This one I really need help on.....

I created a post last night for mycicybride and AK but really it should have been an opinion for all because I am really at a dilemma. Not real major but somewhat of a concern. I have a bridal portrait session this weekend. Now having a bridal portrait session consist of wearing your wedding gown and I am aware of that. But I am dead set against wearing my dress before the wedding day. Mycicybride gave me an idea of putting a sheet under the dress so it does not get dirty and also have my planner hold the dress off the ground. But would it be wrong for me to wear my reception dress to take the pics in since it to looks like a wedding dress (just not so much fabric and stuff and it also has a detachable small train down the back). What do you ladies think?

well as you said, a bridal pic session is just that a session for the bride to wear her wedding dress/gown in for those pro-pics prior to the actual event...but me being the OUT OF THE BOX person that I am wouldn't have a problem twerking that reception dress in a New York minute during my b-pic session...so my opinion is - wear the reception dress for the majority of the pics but take a few "classic" shots in your wedding dress 1st and get out of it quickly...HTH  :)

I turned my bridal portrait session into a couples pic. I didn't want to wear the gown and didn't want a big 16 x 20 pic of myself. So I was out of the box..you can wear whatever you want..but if your goal was to get photographed in your dress then you don't want to have any regrets

well if you are really really against wearing your wedding dress for your b-pics, then don't...one thing about this process is IT'S ABOUT YOU...so do what makes you feel good...if you don't want people seeing pics of you in your dress before the actual date, then by all means only take your reception dress with you for your b-pics...like you said, it looks like a wedding dress and you will still be wearing it that evening anyway, so there you go...but you know me, I'm always thinking outside the box...LOL! ...I would still make sure to take a old SHEET with you to sit on...

that is what I am leaning toward honestly. I really don't want to put that gown on until my wedding day. I am hoping the other dress works instead.

Take the pics in what you feel most comfortable. I would do it in the reception dress if you want. Its different. seriously I have had a few brides do it in the past. One did both dresses as ALF suggested it's your call. HTH

Traditionally, you are supposed to wear the dress you are getting married in. I saw your post from last night like 30 seconds ago. I told you that I do not get on here like that. Oh and a great location would be downtown Charlotte or even a park in Matthews. Matthews has that city/town vibe.

I live in Charlotte and don't know squat about it lol. Now the pavillion where the reception will be is in Freedom Park. Freedom Park is gorgeous but I don't want to have those pictures for my bridal portraits and my wedding day portraits too (if that makes sense). I am not familiar with Matthews at all but I guess I can venture to it and find something nice. daggone shame I don't even utilize my local board at all.

I also forget to say that since I am not a traditional person, do something different and wear the reception dress. Charlotte and surrounding areas have a lot of beauty. You just have to fill up the gas tank and ride out.
