so check it, this isn't advice foresay but more of a comment I get all the time that pisses me off because people say it as a 'compliment':  "Oh chile, you've been with the SAME man since highschool - DAMN, not too many can say that?!"  Yes, this is a back-handed compliment because in one breath you are sorta calling me out about being with one man and in the other breath you sound like you're pitying me...girl bye with that ish...now I could say WELL AT LEAST I HAVEN'T HAD 50 OR MORE D*CKS RUN THROUGH ME SINCE HIGHSCHOOL AND COLLEGE UNTIL NOW! :)

Oooh Alf, girl, they're just jealous. Sun, really? Fair enough. I guess she's straight up old school --- or better yet old country.

Cant think of any bad advice right now. I can say it DOES bother me to no end when I complain to my mom about P and all she says is "Well, Trina, he IS your husband." I'm like yeah and??? And I've heard "stick to your mate no matter what." I'm not co-signing on that one. That 'no matter what' covers way too much ground for me.

I'm gonna post as I'm trying to upgrade from lurker status :-)The worst advice I've heard so far is "Do whatever you need to do to make him feel needed.  If that means not opening the jar, then don't".  I'm like I'll be one hungry chick if I did that.  Negative.  I'm hoping one of my positive traits in his eyes is the fact that I don't need him for every little thing...she was weird.

I have two. The first one is..."don't get a man with less education or that makes less money than you". This is from the same educated heffas I know who don't have a man. The second one...I told my hairdresser after the wedding I wanted to go shorter on my hair. She said did you talk to your honey about it..I said I TOLD him I'm cutting it off some more, he don't care. She said girl you better make sure he okay with it when you do something to your hair, it won't be just your hair anymore. Now my hairdresser is a old downhome lady from Folkston GA. I said chile boo. It aint growing out his hair follicles.

roflmao@this bad advice. I got the one about the man making less money and having less education. Well my FI may not make as much or as educated as me but he treated me better than the filthy rich guy with Ph.Ds. That's why most of these women are alone.

Well my FI may not make as much or as educated as me but he treated me better than the filthy rich guy with Ph.Ds. Now that is the truth! The one I learned this from only had a Master's (no big PhD.LOL) but made 6 figures, so of course I was supposed to lick his crack (and not in a freaky way,LMAO) to want to be with him. Like he was doing ME a favor. Taught me a valuable lesson!
