hey girlie...question for you, who are you using for your cake??...i'm having a hard time finding a bakery that's in my price range AND can provide an awesome cake...I've been to 9, yes 9, bakeries and if they have an awesome tasting cake - they're way out of my price range or they're unprofessional...I have 2 more bakeries to try out before I make a decision (based on my visit and the pros/cons + other people's personal experiences)...if you've selected your cake bakery, could you provide me some info on them and why you selected them??...TIA!!

I actually just picked my baker yesterday. It's Panini Bakery. I'm doing cupcakes and they are not more than $2 a piece depending on the flavor. And for the grooms cake it was only about $200. Their cake is so good and the prices are very reasonable.

I wanted to ask you a question too. Who are you using for your videographer. I need one but I didn't know that they were so expensive. Thanks!

thx girl for the rec...I've actually meet with Sofie @ Panini Bakery 2 wks ago; she was soooo nice and helpful and I absolutely loved her cakes (I sampled the almond, chocolate & vanilla)...unfortunately the cake I want to have made would be very expensive if I went with Sofie + they don't deliver outside of the Highland Park area; if you want your cake delivered, she recommend for you to contact a delivery service she uses that starts at $75...but I keep her info on hand because I could possibly try to get her to renotigate (sp) if I made some changes to the design... I haven't looked into a videographer at this moment, so I don't have any recs to provide to you...have you asked the DFW board or contacted any that the newly brides have wrote about in their wedding recaps??

Dang! Yeah I know what you mean. Her cakes are very good. But since I'm doing cupcakes its alittle cheaper for me and I'm picking my cupcakes and grooms cake up myself. I will let you know if I hear any other good recs for cakes. What about Elena's Cakes off of Greenville in Dallas?

    And also Dallas Affairs catering.

no I haven't heard of Elena's Cakes...I'll look into it next wk...I did have a consultation with Society Bakery on Greenville last wk and they were nice and knowledgable too but they dont do butter cream icing or fondant - they only work with cream cheese icing; their price was right but the samples I had (coconut, vanilla, chocolate, almond) weren't all that IMHO....

How they not gonna do butter cream. That makes the cake. Let me know how is goes with Elena's. Good Luck!
