NWR: Alfdallas And All Other True Blood Fans!

Hey ladies,I have had a really busy week, and didn't get a chance to check out any posts about the last episode.  So, I apologize  for my tardiness and if you ladies have already discussed this, but what did you think?  My FI said that he really didn't like the last episode because it didn't progress the show at all. What do you think?  I thought that it was a great episode and it rewarded true True Blood fans because there were a lot of refrences to first season.

hey lady!!...sorry for the delay in my response...busy evening after work...n-e-whoooo, well to be honest I agree with your FI, this episode didn't really do it for me so I figure the final episode on 9/13 will be the bomb...now the reason why this episode didn't do it for me is because they focused way too much on Marianne and what she's after and why...this part of the show is totally not part of the book so for me it was way too made up and unnecessary so I was just wishing & hoping that the director/producer actually put some of the book's plot of Marianne into this episode and they didn't - oh wells...LOL!...I'm sure the final episode will definitely be the ish!!!

Oh!  So Maryanne is not even mentioned in the book?  The show seems to make a lot of references to Greek Mythology, does the book?  And does the book explain at all why Sookie can read minds?  My FI and I did a search on the internet to see who some of the characters may have been loosely based off of in Greek Mythology and one theory that was brought up was that Sookie may have been based off of the Greek Goddess Psyche.  She was a mortal that turned immortal by marrying a God.  I thought it was a stretch, but I was just curious if the book explained why Sookie can read minds.

I liked it. My only complaint is that the next episode is the season finale and I'm sure it's going to left as a cliffhanger and we'll have to wait until January to see what happens. I wish they could at least give us a 2 hour finale.

there are alot of Greek influences in the book and it does explain Marianne's purpose but the show has focused way too much on her this season and not enough on who really helped Sookie in Dallas and how it ties to Sam...BUT I WILL NOT TELL THIS PART...as far as Sookie and her abilities, you haven't seen half of what she can do -- so I'm sure next season is going to be on FIRE because of all the turns the main characters take!!  ;)

Spim7 I would love a two hour finale too.  I think it's so necessary.  Alfdallas I cannot wait to learn more about Sookie's powers.  My FI don't like Sookie's charactter.  He said that he has seen enough of Sookie. LOL.  I like her, but I looooove her brother Jason.  He's one of my favorites.  Him and Lafayette.

the Sookie on the show isn't as appealing (IMHO) as the Sookie in the book {think Jessica Simpson but not as simple minded, more nieve(sp)}...girl I love me some Layefette too!!!...what I like about the show is that you get to see real people act out the book even if there are parts that are added to the storyline...

I want to read the book so bad, but everytime I read a book and watch a movie or tv show based on the book, I hate the show or movie, and I don't want that to happen with True Blood.  I really look forward to watching that show.  Do you think that reading the book takes away from your enjoyment of the show at all?  Because usually the book is so much better.
