A SIGN FROM UP ABOVE.....LOL

I HAD AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET WITH A PHOTOGRAPHER THAT WAS RECOMMENDED BY ANOTHER KNOTTIE! HER PLACE OF BUSINESS WAS 45 MINS AWAY FROM WHERE I LIVE....SO SHE DECIDED TO MEET ME HALF WAY WHICH WAS DOING ME A FAVOR.  10 MINS AWAY FROM MY DESTINATINATION AND MY TIRE BLOWS.....BY THE GRACE OF GOD I DIDNT WRECK MY CAR BUT WAS THIS A SIGN NOT TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE APPOINTMENT!?  SO I DECIDED TO STILL ATTEND APPT AFTER BEING 20 MIN LATE.....I ARRIVED AND SHE WAS NOT PREPARED!!! SHE ONLY HAD A LAPTOP AND CELL PHONE IN HAND.....NO BUSINESS CARS, NO PRICING SHEETS, NO CONTRACTS, NO RECOMMENDATIONS, BASICALLY NOTHING TO SHOW ME THAT YOU HAVE A LEGITIMATE BUSINESS!!!! HER WORK WAS BEAUTIFUL! AND THE AVERAGE PHOTOGRAPHER CHARGES THREE TIMES WHAT SHE DID (WHICH WAS 650 FOR 5 HOURS, 450-600 EDITIED IMAGES ON CD WITH RELEASE AND FREEE BRIDAL PORTRAIT SESSION) I HOPE SHE DIDNT THINK I WAS GOING TO WRITE YOU A CHECK AND TRUST THAT YOU WILL SEND ME A CONTRACT.  IDK!!! IM TRYING TO GET EVERY THING SQUARED AWAY AND THIS IS ONE OF THE THINGS HOLDING ME BACK FROM ACCOMPLISHING THIS GOAL.WHAT IS ANYONES OPINION ABOUT THE CONTRACT? I AM WILLING TO TAKE THE TRIP TO SIGN THE CONTRACT AND MAKE THE PAYMENT BUT IM AFRAID MY MOTHERS "INTIMIDATING PERSONALITY" MAY HAVE RAN THE POOR LADY AWAY! ALTHOUGH MY MOTHER WASNT MEAN. MY MOTHER IS JUST ABOUT HER BUSINESS AND EXPRESSED TO THE LADY THAT SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN PREPARED!SHOULD I JUST CONTINUE WITH THIS PHOTOTGRAPHER OR SHOULD I CONTINUE WITH MY SEARCH !?!?!?(SORRY SO LONG! THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RANT!

Well, I don't think the price determines if a photographer is good or not, because we're paying about what you said  and she's a great photographer. BUT I must say you don't sound to sure, you sound like you have some doubts, and when you have doubts that means you might be making the wrong choice. So I think you should keep looking and IF you can't find anyone else then maybe you can go with her. I think she should be your last option.

I would say follow your instinct. Were you comfortable with her? Did you like the feel of the photos? I would look at a couple more people with this lady in the back of your mind. If no one else compares to her price and quality, then give her a call. Maybe the interaction with you and your mother taught her a much needed business lesson.
