Giving him what he wants?

My post about hair has prompted me to ask another question. Has your FI requested something for the wedding and you are like "uhhh yeah I'm not doing it"? Examples: has he said he prefers a simple dress but you are going big and poofy, has he said no weave but you are going full Indian Remy, has he said you look good with no make up but you are still paying $150 for that MUA?

I just want my future husband to like what he sees on our wedding day! He's mentioned me wearing my natural hair out and big but I think a tucked or bun style will be more formal. Obviously he won't be disappointed or anything but I just want to give him what he wants.

So let's hear it. What are you doing or not doing? How do you think FI will react? For the married ladies what did you do/not do and how did he react?

I think he will be happy with however you wear your hair. 

I can't really think of anything that my FI has said no to but I am doing anyway.  He doesn't want me to wear a lot of makeup and I am not.

He did not want to do a rehearsal dinner, but I said, yeah, we doing that. Same thing for parents gifts and his grooms cake.

he only asked to have input in the registry and his tux..no problemo!! he went more crazy with the price gun than I did..we had soo much fun...and he picked an awesome tux..so I was thankful I didnt have to veto his decision...lol..as far as my gown..he had no idea..he probably thought the usual..I look beautiful in everything and its a white dress...so he was really nonchalant..but we just got of video sneak peak back...and he cried!!! I told him I wanted one tear and he swore that he wouldnt cry..but ta daaaa...he did...

guys usually like us to wear our real hair and look natural..even with make up..just not too much..but for the wedding..you have to be a souped up version of yourself...dont look like someone he wouldnt recogize..

Fi requested a dress without a huge train and super poofy cuz he had a dream he tripped on it when we jumped the broom......... I have a chapel not cathedral train

So far FI said I could not have a dress in a color other than white or cream *i want pink lol* and I can't have a big poofy dress I swear he is going to be groomzilla

He wanted my girls to be in green dresses instead of pink. I vetoed that right away. In retrospect, I think we did a pretty good job of compromising on most things.

FI requested no military wedding... I granted that one!  He also requested that I try my best to not wear a lot of makeup.   He's not a big fan at all.  Hopefully my MUA will do something that is natural.  

And the big one was an OPEN BAR!!

My FI doesn't like a lot of makeup either and prefers I not wear any.  Sorry, but I'm definitely getting my makeup done .

i am a budding MUA my face will be BEAT lol 

he does not mind the makeup as long as i look good he is ok.... 

but he is the one that wants the big wedding not me

He didn't want me in a poofy dress, he wanted me in something that showed my "figure" lol. I did end up getting a mermaid style dress. Funny thing is my mom's vision was poofy, so I tried on all these poofy dresses for her but in the end I too preferred the mermaid cut and at my last dress fitting, mom was on the same page. So everybody wins!

Pretty much everything OP mentioned from, "Don't wear too much makeup, Don't get weave in your hair, I don't like big dresses, I like simple, Don't spend money on lighting and draping." Needless to say, I will have a MUA, who will make me up to be a little dramatic, but still a little natural. I will be getting a sew-in with my Brazilian hair, but it won't be over the top. Tthe dress is not poofy and big, but a little dramatic and fun on the bottom. And, the BIG ONE, to hell with him about lighting and draping... I've compromised enough I'm paying for it myself, so I'M GETTING MY DAMN LIGHTING AND DRAPING!!!! lol

1. Wear my natural hair- This is going to be tough, day-to-day I'm natural but for my wedding I was thinking a weave
2. Form fitting dress- I want that anyway
That's pretty much it. We'll see as the date gets closer

FI wants to do the unthinkable, smash cake in eachother's face. I have warned him with what I'm spending on my look that day he will have a bitter cold HM if he chooses to do it. It's one of those thing's  that I can't really stop him from doing but that was my only "NO" and I pray he listens.

Well my FI asked me if I was going to wear a ball gown dress and I told him I dont think so. He was like good. Then he asked if I was going to wear heels or flats...he is 6'2 and I am 5'1.5 so he wants me to be a little taller...I told him I would wear heels for the ceremony but not to the reception. He knows I wear makeup and weave but not out of control! . So he isn't asking for too much..he is in control of the budget sooooo thats all the control he needs..

My FI requested that I do not wear a big and poofy dress, but whatever I want...right.  My dress is flowing...

FI has requested full control over the music aspect...it's only right because that is what he does...(MC, producer, audio engineer..in addition to his white collar corp. job..LOL) Not too much makeup....but like thedivav, I love makeup...so my face will be BEAT too! Other than that, he hasn't been demanding at all.

My FI's only request was to have a simple intimate wedding. I think I can grant that one.
