What are some ways to cut costs for your wedding that you didnt think could be done?

I am a complete DIY bride, but loving the personalization that it brings. We also made our reception adults only which cut our costs drastically, especially when many of our guests have 2-4 kids each. And shopping around. I interviewed 6 photographers before settling on one which made about a $1000 difference in our cost there versus if I hade gone with the first one that had what we were looking for.
