So we landed in San Juan, PR on 6.6.12 and had a meeting with the hotel and wedding planner to make sure everyone was on the same page. The meeting went by very quick and everything was just coming into place. We had a meeting with the minister on 6.8.12 followed by a quick rehersal. We opted not to do a rehersal dinner because of cost. Everyone went their separate ways. We hung out with friends until about midnight and I went to bed. My hubby stayed out until 2 am (I think). We stayed in the same suite the night of the wedding but he slept on the couch b/c we couldn't get an extra room for the night. The hotel was booked b/c there were 4 other wedding that weekend as well as something happening in PR. Not sure what was going on but the city was extremely busy.
The day of the wedding, hubby left and he didn't see me. I lied around in bed until my mom and aunt came to my room. I got dress to hang out for the day and we went to mall because I had nothing to do. We walked around from 10 - 1. When I got back to the hotel it was time to get ready. My hairstylist was ready to start, so I called fi to send jordyn (his daughter) to the suite to get her hair done. I ate lunch and started getting ready. After that everything started moving fast. Hair stylist wash and started styling my hair. then the Make up artist arrives, she didn't speak any english but I was able to show her some pictures and she got started. Photographer had already started taken pictures of me getting ready and some shots of hubby. The wedding planner had been in the hotel all morning and final comes to the room to pick up the favors, programs and ribbon wands.
The wedding starts 10 minutes late due to guest arriving late but it was fine. i didn't stress. Once I get to the end of the aisle, the minister lets me know that he brought the wrong color sand but will send us the correct colors so we can mix them afterwards. I didn't care I'm getting married. All I'm thinking is let's do this! I can't wait. The ceremony went by very fast. We take pictures while guest are at the cocktail hour. The planner meets us at the elevator to see the reception room prior to guest entering. I tear up b/c the room was better than I imagined. We had cocktails and app in the reception hall until it was time to let the guest in. We walked around the corner so no one would see us while they entered the room. We entered and everyone screamed and cheered. It was great. We had dinner, cut the cake and then did the first dance. The first dance was a big hit. I cancelled the anniversary dance b/c the dance floor was smaller than I expected. The wedding was supposed to end at midnight however we left at 12:50 am. Oh and bonus at after all was said and done we are getting refund from the vendor b/c we put to much money towards the bar.
