My Lovely Niece-Need Suggestions

Ladies,

In sharing wedding plans with my mom on the phone yesterday, we started discussing the role that my sister's children will play in the wedding.  I have four of them, and at the time of the wedding they will be 8, 6, 5, and 3.  The 5 and 6 year-olds are our flower girls.  The 3 year old is too little to do anything so she will just sit and be cute =)  However, this leaves my 8 year-old who I know would love to be a big girl and help with something.

At first I had her giving out programs to the guests coming in, but we have recently changed our wedding layout to a "dinner theater" setting in which everyone will be seated at their tables and will watch the ceremony up front, so I don't know if her doing that will be necessary now.  Do you all have any suggestions for what she could do to help?

  • Are you jumping the broom, maybe she can carry it? A sign that says the BRIDE IS COMING?

Are you not doing the prgrams ? I think as guest are walking in she could still pass the programs as they go to their seats or like Miss said have her carry a sign, or broom. Otherwise I got nothing sorry ! Lol

  • Misskin we're not jumping the broom but I do like the idea of a sign.  I think I may still have her give the programs out as people come inside, but wanted to ask for any other suggestions to have some options.

  • I was at a wedding and they had someone giving every single lady a rose (added cost of course)
  • nita, have you considered making her a junior bridesmaid?  or if your dress has a train she's old enough to be the trainbearer (i don't know if that's what you call it) but basically pippa middleton's job.

</div><div>This was my suggestion. I also like the holding of "Here come the bride" sign. I have seen a 7-8 yo girl be a bell ringer saynig "here comes the bride". Or you can have her sit out, which is what are doing for one of FI's niece around the same age.
