Flower girl Dress question

Does it have to match the brides dress? We're not having a "traditional" wedding so we were going to go without a fg, but i'd like my little cousin in something special. I found some links:

I think it doesn't have to match per se, but it would be nice to have the same colors as the wedding... My daughter will be 9 by the time of our wedding and she is too old to be the flower girl, I am going to get her a special dress, not like a jr bride or anything, just like a fancy dress for the occasion....

T i'm cosigning 'miya, if I tried to go for a match I'd do same color family as opposed to style family or same color in an accent belt like your picture?  definitely think you could do a good job on ebay.  how old is she?  take a look on recycledbride and preownedweddingdresses, they have stuff for little ones on there too.

p.s. your dress is pretty, I love the lace.

I don't think that it has to match, but I agree with the other girls that it should be in the same color family.

Ok, thanks guys! *whew* It was really hard trying to find something that matched my dress. I'll keep it in the same color family.

Thanks! Getting to this dress was a PROCESS. lol. we altered the jacket though. the jacket is now lined and the puffs at the wrists are now at the elbows! She is 4.
