Question for all Mrs?

I just spent two hours working on my registry online after spending two hours in the store last week. What is the percentage of guests that bothered to purchase from your registry?

I must be honest in the past I have always been lazy and gave cash as a wedding gift. I only used the registry with baby showers.

So did I waste 4 hours or do you think a large amount of guests will actually use the registry?

I only got TWO gifts off my 50+ gift registry at a few different stores. All our guest gave cash and gift cards. It may not be a waste of time depending on your guest because some people don't like giving cash.

I also got a few gifts off my registry at my bridal shower so in all I think I got 6 gifts from my registry.

I received less than 10 gifts from my registry.... of 200+ things at 2 stores. So... uhhh... you might have just wasted 4 hours of your life that you can NEVER get back!!! lol.

LOL! Well I had fun doing it and hopefully the registry doesn't expire soon. I'll just use it again when we buy a bigger home for the house warming party.

It was 50/50 but then you had people go to the store and add what they want to your registry. I looked at my BB & B registry one day and noticed items on there that I did not put. People can actually purchase items and put them on your registry. I understand the thought that count but I did not need another picture frame. I still have leftover picture frames from my cocktail hour. WTH?

We only got one gift period..... and it wasn't even on the registry.  I don't know if anyone even looked at our registry.  It was all cash/checks and a few gift cards.

We got a good amount of things off of our registry. I think it does just depend on your crowd...

I had my b-shower two weeks ago and there are only a few gifts left on my registry. It definitely depends on your crowd.

We got a good amount of gifts off our registry, but also got plenty of cash and gift cards.  I agree with Sweets18....It all depends upon the crowd.

Thanks Carla1019 for the post.  FI and I just had a conversation about this last week after we registered at two places.  His coworkers told him no one ever goes to the registry however my family/friends always go to the registry to get gift.  So I'm glad I wasn't lieing when I said it depends on your guest!  Thanks ladies for confirming.

We got a lot of stuff off our registry for shower gifts and before the wedding. The only downfall...finding somewhere to put all the stuff now! At the wedding, we got 2 gifts from the registry, the rest was cash and gift cards.

This is the problem we are having now.

All the gifts we received were from the registry or gift cards to where we registered.  No one gave us cash.  The registry is easy, I don't understand why people decide to buy whatever they want to give you from somewhere else.  We got 2 gifts like that and they were immediately returned and we purchased what we actually registered for.  Ugh, that bothers me.

We got tons of stuff off the registry for the showers but nothing from the registry for the wedding. We got 8 gifts in total at the wedding and none of the stuff was on the registry. We did get tons of cash, checks and gift cards. So we will use some of that to get the items off the registry that we didnt get and Target sent us a 20% off things on the registry so that was cool..

We got maybe 10-15 things off of our registries that had a total of maybe 75 items on them combined. All other gifts were gift cards, money, and then gifts that people just decided to give us like a tea party set, dip tray, etc stuff we did not register for. BTW I did all of our registries online.
