Washington-Seattle

small reception venue ideas (& inexpensive)

I just started planning and am looking for a great small reception place. We will only have about 50 people coming to Seattle. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am looking for a good deal, but want it to be nice too. Any ideas would be appreciated, I am so lost!!

I would check restaurants with private rooms. I had my reception for 32 at Daniel's Broiler. It worked well but probably not inexpensive. It was about 3k for 32.

that's a good idea... I looked into Palisade today, it wasn't inexpensive, but it might be worth it, that place is very nice! thanks for the advice!

Here are the small (<100) reception venues from this map, or in some cases, have a room with seating in that range:Bacon MansionChinese RoomParsons Gardens (city park)Fremont Abbey Arts CenterSeattle Asian Art MuseumMuseum of History and IndustryIn addition some of the hotels or country clubs have rooms in the right size, but they tend to be overpriced.SAAM is the only one we looked at in person ... it's a great space, plus there are the gardens, but it was too small for our guest list.

If you're open to going to the Eastside, there's Heirtage Hall in Kirkland that holds up to 70. You bring whatever caterer you want and I believe for a lengthy rental on a weekend day you get an hour or two at the gazebo thing at Marina Park.

Check out Blue Ribbon Culinary School on Lake Union. I know it sounds funny, but it's in a beautiful setting, and it's perfect for a small wedding. I'm having my small wedding there (55 people). They also have what is called "all inclusive" packages where for the per head price you get a wedding planner, catering (the food is AWESOME!), a florist, and a pastry chef, all linens, place settings, etc. as well as use of the venue all day. From what I found when I was comparing their price was fantastic. HTH!

Don't worry. I think we all go through that initial stress when we first got engaged. Once you start getting yourself organized you'll feel waaaay better. Good luck! =)

The initial stress is totally normal. A lot of that will go away once you decide on a venue and a date. Good luck!

If you're open to the Eastside, Clise Mansion at Redmond's Marymoor Park has a number of rooms to choose from. The big room there seats 100 banquet style. There is a rental fee, but it's small compared to many places and they have a selection of caterers from cheap to pricey. It includes the gorgeous outside grounds/gazebo as well as the mansion.

If you like unusual/outdoors, totally check out Treehouse Point in Preston. It is amazing!

Oooh, Treehouse Point. More to add to the map. What's the seating capacity there? And do you have any idea of the price per person or rental price?

I have no idea about the price, and all I know is the seating is small. I have a friend who got married there in July (I did not attend, but another friend of ours did). I'd run across it in a google search & thought it looked amazing but I heard it wouldn't hold my guest list (100+). My friend's pics look AMAZING though. They even were able to have a bonfire & sparklers down on the river when it got dark. Definitely worth checking out.

We are having our wedding rehearsal dinner at Anthony's on Shilshole it has huge windows all with views of the water. We are renting the Olympic Room which holds up to 75 seated. They have complimentary flower centerpieces of flowers that they will order in your colors. Plus they have all the hookups for ipods, powerpoint, they provide microphones. Its a really cute little place and very reasonably priced!!
