What do you think?

Good morning~

I have a bit of an issue I've been trying to work out for a couple of days.  My venue is gorgeous and I love it, but the downside is that it's just one big room. (See siggy) I'm having both the ceremony and the reception there and am trying to fig out the best way to change the space.  What do you think of this... For the ceremony I planned to already have the tables ready and just pushed back against the walls to add to the ceremony decor (the room is huge so there will be plenty of space to do this.) The venue has a huge patio areas.  After the ceremony would it be feasible to have all my guests go out onto the patio for cocktail hour while the tables are moved into place?

Yes, that is feasable but who is moving the tables? Is the patio big enough for all the guest?

10 months is March, will it be too cold, may be an issue.

I think that's a good idea. My venue is also providing us with one large room. We'll be having the ceremony on the far end and the reception closer to the door. It's large enough for us to have two defined spaces. {Only having 110 guests.} Wish we had a cocktail hour space because I love this idea!

I think it will work. Are you getting married in TN? If so, I think it may be warm enough for the guests to be outside - if it isn't you may want to provide heating lamps or space heaters. Also, if you're having older guests, make sure to have some seats available as they may not be able to stand for too long while the room is being flipped. Flipping the room is very common and I'm sure your venue has done it plenty of times. I was going to do this, but my venue manager didn't sound too competent about her ability to get the room flipped in a reasonable amount of time (45 mins - 1 hour). Make sure to speak to your venue as well about your concerns. Good luck!

Ditto PP.  Also, is the space covered can it be enclosed if there is inclement weather?

Thanks for your responses.  Yes I am getting married in TN.  The weather is usually nice enough in March to sit outside.  The patio space is completely covered.
