So I am big lover of houses.  I love to just go and look at model homes to get ideas and to see what is out there.  The FH and I know what our dream house is like. 

So...In honor of the "american dream", let's build our houses shall we:

1.  Traditional, Contemporary, Mediterranean, French Chalet, Penthouse, Other:  What is the sytle of your dream home?

2. Garages, # of spaces:

1.  Traditional, Contemporary, Mediterranean, French Chalet, Penthouse, Other:  What is the sytle of your dream home? Mediterranean all the way. Both the FH and I love the whole look of this style and the fact that many designs come with a lanai. 

2. Garages, # of spaces: 3 to 4.  FH loves his vehicles and motorcyles.  We probably really would need 6.  LOL!

3. How much land? 3/4 to an acre with some of that treed at the end of the lot.

4. Square footage of home:  At max 4500sq ft.  I am more about the quality than quantity.

5. Elevation:  Brick, Stone, Siding, Combo, other? Stucco/Stone.

6.  # of floors:  Ideally one level but open to two.

7.  # of bedrooms/bathrooms:  4 to 6 to accomodate the kids and family visitors.

8.  Master bedroom:  What must haves do you need in your bedroom?  Fireplace, HUGE his/her customized closets, a separate sitting room, deck for two of sitting room, very large luxury bathroom with his/her toilets, sinks, and dressing area.  A huge amount of the home's square footage would probably be my bedroom.  LOL!

9.  Which room is the house would be your designated spot?  The sunroom and office.  Your FH's spot? The basement (if we have one), garage, and theater room.

10.  Backyard style/focus?  A combo of all three for us.  I LOVE my garden, the lanai (pool) would be already there, and the FH loves his entertaining.

2. Garages, # of spaces: 3 car garage.  Hubby has a Bike which take up one of the spots

3. How much land?  I am a NYC girl, I love space, but I do not have a green thumb and I aint cutting the grass.  So with that said, enough yard to entertain, BBQ and relax.

4. Square footage of home: 3,000 sounds like a lot, but I need a big kitchen, a craft room, he needs his man cave, and we need rooms for when family come to visit.

5. Elevation:  Brick, Stone, Siding, Combo, other? Brick

6.  # of floors: 1 if possible, I have bad knees and the stairs will eventually get the best of me.

7.  # of bedrooms/bathrooms: 4 bedrooms and at least 2.5 bathrooms

8.  Master bedroom:  What must haves do you need in your bedroom?  Needs to be big enough for our flat screen tv, his comfy chair and the king size bed. Must have an ensuite bathroom with seperate tub and shower. His and her sinks. Walk in closet with plenty or space. Heated bathroom floors and a spa tub...

9.  Which room is the house would be your designated spot?  Your FH's spot? His is his man cave, mine would be the craft room or office where my computer is.

10.  Backyard style/focus?

We want a pool, fire pit, and outdoor kitchen.  Trees and shrubs just to add some decore.  We love to enterain and have had several pool party, we just need to take it to the next level with an out door kitchen... on his wish list...

Probably a Mediterranean or maybe a Georgian(i'm leaning towards a Georgian)

6 we have a big family....

i want at least 3 acres....we have 4 kids and  2 german shepherds they all need room to run

we are in a 2500sqft now and its cramped i NEED at least 8500 for my sanity!!!!

definintly BRICK ever since i was little all i can remember wanting was a 4 sided brick house!!!

i MUST have a double sided fireplace, 2 walk in closets, double tray ceilings, bay windows, jacuzzi in the master bath along with a huge walk in shower with at least 4 shower heads 1 of which is a rainfall type showerhead, recess lighting and berber carpet.....can u tell i've put thought into this?

my spot would be the kitchen...i love to cook and entertain so that would be my spot!!!! FH would TOTALLY dominate the basement lol

all of the above!!! like i said we have 4 kids and 2 large dogs....i'd probably have the dogs kennel size increased to .25 acres so they have plenty of room to run.... the kids would also get a huge play ground area.....but i would also have an inground pool, fire pit, bbq/kitchen area, and a zen garden somewhere

Ultra modern with a bit of country chic i need a huge island with the stove top on the island and lots of prep counters and cabinets with windows in addition to granite counter tops and hardwood floors all in cherry wood.

Combo! hardwoods on main and carpet upstairs and in basement.....open floor plan with vaulted ceilings and huge foyer, with a walk out daylight basement!
