so i went BM dress shopping today with MOH and BMs. Remember how i told yall to pray for me today for having to deal with my sister/MOH?
NO! I pegged the wrong one!!
BM #1...omg. So we find these gorgeous dresses that fit perfect with the theme, hollywood glam. (I added red into the colors of black, gray, pink and white). I made it clear I wanna be the only one with Red, with a red sash and my red roses.
So the BM dress is long, one shoulder, with black lace and a nude color underneath. its beautiful. but we want to change the colors to silver....no big deal. So BM#1 says she wants red. AFTER she says time and time again that red is N-word-ish. (her words, not mine). So my MOH had to remind her that I want to be the only one in red, and if they wear red its too much red because red is NOT the main color, but the color I just want splashes of. You can tell BM has a lil attitude at this dress shop....but i didnt pay it no attention cuz my feet hurt, my MOH was being her boojie self getting on my nerves, I was hungry, I needed a cigarette, its 98 degrees outside, the perfect storm for irritation.
So anyway, we go back to the othet store so i can show MOH the dress I was really thinking would be it.... it looked awesome, besides the facts its also too small and id have to commit to buy to get it in my size. but no big deal.
We get there, and BM#1 has pulled some BM dresses that look like cheap dresses from DEB, gliiter and insanely cheap feeling and looking material and all. My MOH explained to her that hollywood glam is the look, and what she pulled is the farthest from hollywood glam. This girl kept reiterating thruout the day how she REFUSES to wear this or that, and just has something to say to everything. So i realized this is going to be THAT bridesmaid...theres always one.
So then i start talking about the person im hiring for hair and makeup...she stops me to tell you " oh you know im doing my own hair"....UH NO, youre not. Im like uh well youre gunna have to do lots of practice runs because it has to be perfect and uniform to the people who are getting theirs done by professionals.
Shes like "Cuz im havin mircros for the wedding"..... Ok. thats fine. but it STILL has to be styled and I sure hope theyll be fresh mircros cuz that ish u rockin right now is lookin a hot ass mess.
I dont mean to be bridezilla like, but dammit i will be. Its my wedding, i want you to wear a certain thing, have a certain look, and act a certain way. This isnt a night out on the town where everyone can look however they want....you kinda dont call the major shots in this situation. So bridezilla i will be. Im not asking for much, just that your dress doesnt look like a dress someones kid wears to the 8th grade formal.
Soooo MOH and I are in the car and she starts sayin how we cant have this BM make any decisions on clothes cuz we will all be a hot ass mess and that she is actin funny because of the cost of the dress. I understand things are tough for a lot of people right now, but....we aint gettin DEB dresses due to finanaces. sorry! Im trying my best to keep all costs at a minimum, I told you I would look around for the same dress or something similar that costs much less than this one ($275, before slip color change) and if I cant get the price lower, we will find something else. calm the F down. damn.
Anyway, I bought the dress :-D. for...drumroll...............$324 out the door. are you kidding me? when the girl asked "is this the dress?" i started crying. I SWORE i wasnt gunna be that girl who cried. obviously, im a liar. Now the fun part...shoes shopping!!
