so is it actually the week of my wedding? It seems so surreal!! This is going to be a complete stream-of-consciousness post, so sorry in advance if it doesn't make sense. LOL! And I may need to do this daily leading up to the wedding just to get it all out of me!
I have been going over a wedding checklist from bridalguide.com, and I found a few things I forgot to do (so I handled them this weekend!). I posted them below, just in case it helps anyone who is concentrating on their final details -
SPECIAL shout out to the JUNE 25th BRIDES!!
- arrange for transportation to/from airport for honeymoon (I just booked an airport shuttle for us on Saturday)
- schedule return of groom's tux (we went to tux place yesterday and confirmed)
- give final headcount to the caterer (doing that TODAY)
- start packing for honeymoon (I started a little bit, but did a lot more this weekend)
- confirm hairstylist schedule (mine is flying in from ATL, so I confirmed everything with her yesterday)
Ladies, I CANNOT BELIEVE it's almost here! When I think about how helpful, welcoming, fun, exciting, and important this board has been for me I just start tearing up!
FI and I moved about 85% of my stuff into his place on Saturday, so I'm sitting in my apartment looking at the bare walls and empty rooms. FI surprised me and gave me the ENTIRE master bedroom closet (we were supposed to split it 50/50) so I now have a huge walk-in closet to myself! He is a great man!
Family/friends are calling all the time now and I have people starting to come into town on Wednesday night.
My VP called me on Friday and said he wants to pay for our family/friends and us to go out to dinner sometime this weekend (up to 20 people) and he will PAY FOR IT. Yay!!! God is good!
FI and I prayed together this morning and asked God to continue to align our hearts and minds as we enter into this most important week. We asked for traveling mercies for our friends/families and the strength to hold fast to what we know is right since there will be so many outside influences in town. Not saying any of our friends/family are bad people or have bad intentions, but we are very focused on putting God first and don't want to get pulled off track or distracted when friends from "back in the day" are in town.
We met with our wedding coordinator yesterday and gave her the last of the stuff she is bringing to the wedding/rehearsal for us. She is so AWESOME! We didn't even have to ask her anything, she just basically broke it all down and told us everything she has done already and she has it completely under control. She is supposed to be just a day-of coordinator but she has been working on our behalf for months now, so she will be getting a great tip!!
I went to the nail salon my mom and I have an appointment at to view their Bio Sculpture nail poish colors (I'm getting the no-chip nails) and I found one I will love for the wedding - it's called Pink Foundation and it's a pretty, sheer pink.
OK I think those are all of my random thoughts for now....I may need to come spill more later - LOL!
