Well ladies I was supposed to be going home to California today, but I am currently stuck in Europe. My FI took me to the airport this morning so I could fly home. I went to check in at the counter and the lady saw I was flying Stand-by and she asked if I was a United employee and I told her my cousin was the employee and then the lady got an attitude and was like, "Well she should have informed you and she should check her email to know that you cannot fly out of Europe on a pass until the 16th unless you are flying out of amsterdam in The Netherlands or Zurich, Switzerland." She then says that I can buy a ticket to the states (which would cost me $4000) or I can find a way to either of those airports.
I walked to my FI who was standing by because in Europe they are now really strict and the people who are with you and not flying cannot go to the counter with you. As soon as I walked to him I said, "I have a problem." I explained to him and being the great guy he is, he said, "Well umm I can drive you to Amsterdam or we can go back to the house and find out when the next high speed train is to there from Belgium."
I then called my mom, she and I had a good laugh about it becaue its something you expect to see in a movie, which I found funny because people are constantly telling me that my relationship with my FI is like a Romantic Comedy. My mom just so happen to be with my cousin's mom and so she called my cousin and I am now set to fly out on Monday.
The big problem was I start the Fall semester on Monday morning and I will have to miss the first class for 2 classes. I emailed my Professors, one has already gotten back to me and he is fine, I am just waiting on the other.
It just was not meant for me to leave today, its my FI's birthday anyway so I get to spend the day with him so that does make me happy. I am just stressed out over school. I will be pretty out of it my first week.
