I am an old knottie and don't post that much anymore. I have been engaged since Christmas '08 and kind of fell off since my engagement is so long. Anyhoo, now that I am getting closer and more into planning I have gradually been coming back on the knot. I just looked at your bio and realized that we are date twins!!! Today makes 10 months! What have you done so far? My checks are : Venue, Photographer, Wedding Coordinator, Dress and that's about it. Now that I have hired a coordinator, I should be able to get more things done since I have help. I am so excited to have a date twin on here! Now I don't feel like I am anxiously waiting by myself!

Hey Date Twin!!! I really don't have many checks since we are doing this on our own. But so far I've got the venue and the photographer.  I'm a stay at home mom so the financial responsibility is falling on my FI alone. We plan to use our income tax for the wedding. So after Feb. I will be in full wedding planning mode. What are your colors and all that jazz???

Girl, I understand about those finances!! Luckily, I have been engaged for almost a year already and have been saving (somewhat, I been dipping into it every now and then!!!) and the four of us are all chipping in ( me, FI and my parents) Our colors are black and white with a touch of red ( mostly just the flowers will be red) Our theme is sort of vintage glam. Think Harlem Nights/ Cotton Club. The ceremony will be in the ballroom of a hotel and the reception will be on the rooftop ( weather permitting, fingers crossed!) We're even having casino tables and dealers brought in! That's the part I am most excited about. If the budget permits, I would love to surprise FI with a cigar roller but I just found out how expensive they are!My other alternative is to just buy a bunch of cigars and set them up on a table really nice and have a sort of DIY cigar station without having the person there to actually roll them.
What are your plans? I love your color scheme!!!

Well I posted pics of the venue in my bio. Its a building in a park. We plan on getting married on the steps. I really wanted to have an outside ceremony and this is the best alternative I came up with. Plus I wanted some good pictures and what better place than a park with plenty of trees. I want to have some kinda station but I'm not sure what as of yet. I was thinking a photobooth. I found one in my area for about 600 and I didnt think that was too bad.  I know that i'm going to do a cookie table for the favors all homemade (by me , my family, and my bm's) I was thinking of adding milk also. But since I know folks gon be drinking do I really need milk?? Since Im not having a planner my sister and I are coming up with everything. Which is actually harder than it looks lol. Do you have a bio??

Oh, I love the cookies and milk idea!!! That is too cute. And $600 for a photobooth is not bad at all! Sorry, I don't have a bio. I had some stuff up a while ago but I took it down, I am really computer illiterate but maybe I will try to make a bio.
