Grooms cake or black/rum cake

I want to add some afrocentric elements to my wedding. Is anyone planning on doing a rum or grooms cake? Or do you know anyone who did? Do you know where I can get a good recipe? I was wondering if it was possible to do a rum cake in the shape of a football? Or should i just do the grooms cake in red velvet(his favorite cake) in the shape of a football and do a separate rum cake?

Yes, My Godmother makes them and it is a Family Tradition. We have it at every Celebration.

Since my Hubby's side is not into the Rum Cake/Black Cake thing we are having a regular cake for guests. Mostly, my Family members will be the only one's eating it.

I can get you a recipe. You can make it into whatever shape, however dependign on how much rum you use will make it hard for the icing to stick.

    Where do you live?

I'm doing a groom's cake in the replica of my honey's fav throwback basketball jersey. It's chocolate though. My wedding cake is 4 tiers and 4 different flavors (red velvet is one of the flavors).
