Question-wedding music

Fi's friend does music for weddings. He actually contacted fi about doing our wedding. The problem; he's in Texas and we're in Florida. I talked to him today on FB and he's going to give me a call tonight. 

We've been to two weddings he's done before and I really liked what he did. One wedding had a live band and live music for the ceremony and the other had a playlist. I really want a band/group for the reception but I'm just concerned about his contacts in Florida. What questions should I ask him.

What does he do, sing? Or is he a musician?

he owns a production company providing dj's, bands, video, photograhy

Get the names of the people who he is suggesting, and then get demo CDs from them or go see them in action.  You question the band and tell them what you want.  You then make the final decision of which band to use.  Y

Thanks Lisa, didn't think about demo CDs. I actually spoke with him and I think he's reasonable priced. The good news is that he's moving back to the East Coast before the wedding.
