Mother of the Bride & Groom Attire

What does the mothers usually wear? Do they wear something that matches the bridal party? I was thinking they both should wear whatever they feel comfortable in. I'm lost. Do I need to add this my already long to do list. Grrr

Ive seen some wear the same or similar dress suite or dress or different style of dresses in offset colors that match the bridal party. My colors are purple and teal. His mom is wearing teal and mine is wearing like a fushia or a purple thats a little lighter thank what the BP party is wearing. Ive seen moms wear the main color but in a different shade as well with different styles of dresses.

I think they can wear whatever they want. My bridal party is wearing lavender and we are asking the moms to wear light yellow since that's one of our colors. They won't match the bridal party per se, but they'll be in complimentary colors

They usually are in some color scheme of the wedding party but if you aren't picky then let them wear whatever they want. I requested that my mom wear Navy, which she found a dress months ago.....but now she said if she found a BAD Fuchsia gown that is what she is wearing.....and a BAD GOWN she found! Its HAUTE and it was only $18 bucks on the Clearance rack at Belk. She's a shopaholic though. The gown was originally $300. Only my mom finds deals like that though.

i think im just going to tell my mom to wear whatever she wants, she has a different style and she and i both think mother of the bride dresses are hideous. My step mom will probably wear one of thise hideous dresses and my mother in law....god only knows, all i know is itll probably have lots of sequins
