Is it inappropriate....?

to have Champaign in the limo BEFORE the church ceremony?  I would never drink before church but I was thinking a small glass would calm my nerves. I know that I would only have half a glass but I am worried just in case my BM have more I don't want them tipsy walking down the aisle.

What do you think?

I think if you give everyone 1 glass and make it a toast, then it will be fine. It won't seem like you are "drinking". After the toast just finish the glass you have.  That would calm your nerves but it's not enough to make anyone tipsy.

I agree with pp and maybe not even a whole glass just poor enough to toast with and be done. That way your nerves are calm but nobody will be tipsy by the time they get there.

I plan on having a drink or two Tongue out before my wedding, but we're not getting married in a church.  I think one glass of wine or champagne will be ok, it's not like you guys will be taking shots of vodka or something.  I say have a glass and unwind.

I dont see any issue with it. We're getting married in a church and my parents are hosting a bridesmaid's brunch that morning where there will be plenty of mimosa's and sangria flowing!

I don't think it is inappropriate, but I probably wouldn't do it in a limo.  I'd be to worried about spills.  A nice toast before you get in the limo may do the trick.

I agree with pp, but this is a good point!

Shoot.....we had wine in our hotel suite while we were doing makeup & hair. I had some drinkers up in there, so I told them 1 glass at that time & get your drink on at the reception!

I have told everyone that we will have one glass of champagne before the ceremony.  Just a toast slash calm your nerves drink.

I agree that drinking in the limo might not be the best idea for spills....however I plan on having a glass or two of wine/champagne while getting ready and I'm also having the ceremony in church. I don't see anything wrong with that at all. Heck when Jesus turned the water into wine it was at a wedding! lol

No but seriously one good thing to keep in mind as far as curbing the amount your BMs drink is to remember that one regular bottle of wine serves 4-6 glasses of wine. If you only have one bottle depending on your bridal party's size you can only get a couple glasses therefore they truly can only have a glass or so.

I was recently MOH in a traditional catholic wedding..and we had champagne punch in the church annex while we were getting dressed. I don't see anything wrong with having a glass of champagne to calm your nerves.
