Post Wedding: The Dress

Hey Ladies, so I just had someone inquire about purchasing my wedding dress. Prior to her sending communication I was sure I wanted to sell the dress. After getting her message I'm not so sure I'm ready to part ways with her. I don't plan to wear it again, but I guess the wedding is still fresh, we are almost at 2 months of marriage now and I don't know if I'm ready to let her go!! She's just sooo beautiful.  LoL.

What have you ladies decided to do with your dresses post wedding? For those who sold theirs, how long after your wedding did you wait before you let it go? I asked DH's opinion and he said ask other married ladies LOL it's up to you and unless you plan to save it for our FD then sure sell it.

I keep going back and forth.  I think I may have my dress made into a keepsake either a pillow, blanket or something that can be passed down.  My something old/new/blue for my wedding was actually my mom's wedding dress that she had made into a handkerchief with my name and wedding date in blue for me.  It's really your personal choice what you decide to do with it. As of right now I really don't want to sell mine, I loved my dress and DH loved it.

I sold mine just last week! I was going back and forth with the decision on selling it, I said if nobody wanted to buy it within 2 months of me posting it then it was meant for me to keep it. I didn't get nervous about the whole thing until I actually received the payment and realized it was time to part with my dress. So far I don't regret the decision

Mine has been in the closet, after getting the message from the lady stating she was okay with my payment amount and would be sending me a cashier's check, I pulled it out  of the bag and was like ohhhhhh! I have to get it dry cleaned I definitely had a good time in that dress. So I guess when I get the payment she's gone. I'll probably go back and forth until it's gone. I posted it maybe two weeks ago on the website someone suggested a couple of weeks ago.

I think I am going to keep mine at the present time.  It was nice for my mom to pass her dress on to me. I am wearing her veil and using the lace from her skirt to make the veil longer.

I don't think I want to have children, so I plan to keep it for now. If I have a child, we have my mom's veil as the heirloom item.  I may decide to donate my dress to Brides for Breast Cancer if I no longer want to keep it.
