DIY... not me

I see all the great pics of people's DIY projects and I think they are all so cute. But I am so not a DIY kind of crafty person. I wish I could just send off my ideas and someone else will do it.

Some of the photos on here are GREAT ideas... how did you guys come up with them?

My wedding party is my two sisters and my niece ( too many girl friends to choose from- high school, college, post college friends) and I don't think I need much to give them I was thinking a gift certificate to dinner and my niece she would like Forever 21 shopping spree. I don't know how or wouldn't think to make them anything.

I need some ideas because I want to make something... I think!

Seriously, I'm not crafty AT ALL, but so far I've designed all my paper items invitations in photoshop, blinged out our cake topper, did my own mustache-on-a-stick props for the photobooth and will be monogramming the aisle runner when I go home to Ohio next week.  The only way I was able to do these things was by youtube tutorials and the knot.  There wasn't anything that I did that was an original idea, I just see things that I like and re-create it.  Give it a try and I think you'll be surprised at what you can do.

I think I am in the same boat as you. I pay to get things done right but I got a reality check when I saw how expensive everything was from simple things like paper to linens. I'm not a crafty person but  I'm determined to cut costs any way possible and DIY projects have become necessary. I've decided to make my own invites, cake topper, and all other wedding stationary.

The good thing is, you still have lots of time to think about projects and get them done. I'll be reading this thread for ideas too.

Oooooh chile I am so not crafty forreal I cant even cut a straight line. You have to dig deep and really envision what you want to make things happen. I believe in you guys and I am sure you can make it happen. the ladies here are great and will surely share if you ask. Good luck and I know it will work out.

Card box is cute. Maybe I can make that. I looked at your programs. I have no idea why people need programs. Maybe I need to research that more.

Programs are just more paper... LOL

Oh I know I want a wish tree, maybe I can make that and the little cards for people to write us a little note!

    Thanks

<div>You definitely want programs.  It's nice for your guests to know who your bridal party members are and to know the flow of the ceremony.  If I went to a wedding without a program I'd be a little restless because I would have no clue what was to come next.  Also, your programs are a place where you can mention people that were close to you and your FI that have passed away, and you can also include info about any other things happening in your wedding that may need a little explaining.  For example, we're jumping the broom and I put a little blurb in it about what it means.  Below is the front and back of our programs that I designed to give you an example.  Mind you it's a ROUGH draft and nowhere near finished.</div><div>
