wow based on what I heard its easier if males live with their inlaws than in females live with their inlaws as you always feel you don't measure up to the mom

Lets hope you have a great experience

I know I am quoting someone else on this one but I can't remember who.  He/She who holds the purse strings gets to make the decisions.  If she aint paying (which in another post you said she wasn't) then she really doesn't have a leg to stand on.

Are you catholic?  If not I say don't do it.  I have been to catholic weddings and they are long and very traditional.  Most guests who are not catholic have no idea what the heck is going on in the ceremony.  IMHO the ceremonies are very impersonal and deal more with tradition rather than the couple getting married.  No offense meant to anyone who is Catholic.  JMHO.

On one hand I am sad that FI doesn't have his parents so I won't have any in-laws outside of my brother in law to be.  Hearing stories like this makes he want to let out a huge sigh of relief.

DJSCAT is right.  If you two are holding the purse strings, you have the wedding you want. Is your FI catholic (or better yet an active catholic)? Are you catholic?  I understand it is very difficult to have a catholic wedding when one party is not catholic.  If you're not committed to accommodating the request, then save yourself the trouble of trying to get the approval of having the catholic wedding.
