Question......I'm having the same type of reception you are. Are you doing a cocktail hour as well?

  • The whole thing is one big cocktail hour Lol. My ceremony is from 6-6:30PM  (won't take that long, but you know how your folks are on CP time). They will start serving the hors' d ouvers @ 7 and cake cutting at 9. Drinks flowing the whole time. That's it. Then I am having folks back to my house where I will have some real food (Fried chicken, Mac & Cheese etc). I don't expect everyone to come back to my house afterward because It is a Sunday night so I am preparing for @ 30. Hoped this helped.

In your opinion how should I do mines. Our ceremony starts at 6pm also. The Golf club will flip the room for the cocktail reception. During this time we will be taking pictures. Should we have a cocktail hour with drinks and light appitizers only for our guest while pics are taken?

Our Hors d'oeuvers reception will have  two carving stations as well as a variety of appitizers.

    HELP!!!!!

  • In this case I think you should do something. You don't want your guests waiting around doing nothing while you are taking pics. I would say a variety of cheese and crackers and fresh fruit would be nice. That way you won't overdue it on the hors d' ouvers.
