So in the midst of wedding planning I know I personally have felt extremely overwhelmed with the questions of how am i going to pay for all of this in time, do i have enough, will my guests be happy, will my FI and I have a long lasting happy marriage. Whatever the things that are on your{our} minds I wanted to just pray for you all {including myself} because unless you're a bride dealing with the planning of the most important day of your life, you don't understand what it's like to have this even constantly on your mind....so here it goes...if you don't pray to christ then just pray to whomever you worship this is a blessing and a prayer so it applies to us all no matter the faith.

Father God, king of all kings and lord of all lords I come to you with a humble yet thankful heart for providing me with all of your blessings in my life. I thank  you for blessing me with this amazing man that you have created solely for me. I ask that you keep an eye over us at all times, show us signs that you are still God and do not let us get caught up in the material possessions of this world. Lord I ask that you bless me, the bride, as I search for the right words, the right food, the right dress and the right date as I prepare to proclaim my undying love and devotion to the man you have blessed me with. Keep me whole, keep me righteous, keep me sane and lord please bless my marriage. I ask that you cast away all evil that tries to come towards us as we prepare for this sacrement. I know that we serve a perfect savior yet life may not always turn out the way we plan, but I ask you to bless my tongue for I want to speak nothing but good about this day,. I ask you to keep all harm, danger, trials and tribulations away from us throughout this period in our lives, and if you see that we NEED those things, I ask you to bless us and help us to always remain faithful to you and the word of the Lord. show us which way to go, or what you want us to do! Father God I pray for every single woman on this board that is preparing for marriage. I ask that you help prepare them to be perfect wives in a perfect marriage before you help them prepare for the perfect wedding. Help them to see that a beautiful wedding is based upon the love and commitment made to one another and not by the height of their centerpiece nor the name brand of their shoe. Lord I ask you to bless us all in abundance on this day and everyday. In Jesus' name AMEN

I was actually thinking about finances and paying for everything, how to make sure I am the type of wife God wants me to be, giving FI the wisdom and strength to be the head of the household God wants him to be in every way, and how to keep the both of us sane for the next 3 1/2 weeks!

That's what I've been standing on the past couple of months!  Our wedding savings plan went awry this summer when they cut FIs hours drastically - we were just blessed he didn't get laid off!  And I took a new job that had a higher salary but I bring home less money because I had no idea it costs so much to park in the Medical Center!  And some other unforseen financial hits happened (including a teenager running up a $900 cell phone bill and still don't wanna do his  school work - but now I digress)!   But I believe everything will be fine - if I can stop buying stuff! LOL!

Amen! Thank you so much for that much needed prayer! I have a small budget and I was stressing because I want it to be "fab" and I was under the impression that that meant breaking the bank! I really needed to hear this part:
Help them to see that a beautiful wedding is based upon the love and commitment made to one another and not by the height of their centerpiece nor the name brand of their shoe.
Sometimes we get so caught up in decor, attire, and what people will think when they walk into our reception but it's not even about that. I must admit I'm guilty of this because I did a mock up of our tables the other day and our centerpieces were too short IMO. I actually went to Michael's and bought 16 24" glass vases and redid all my centerpieces...all because I thought my short centerpieces weren't "fab" enough. That's money I could have spent on something that we really needed! Thank you for that prayer because I definitely needed to hear that!!!

AMEN!!!! Thank you so much! I needed this word today for real! I am sitting here in tears because I was beginning to be more preoccupied with the material and attempting to impress and please everyone except for God. FI and I always strive to have Him as the center of our relationship and He will be the center of our day. Thank you so much for posting this and being a blessing to me today!

WOW.....I guess I am not the only one who has been feeling this immense amount of pressure. It's so hard being a bride to be especially when money is an issue. FI and I don't EVEN LIVE TOGETHER yet and we have to find a place in the midst of all this. Our savings plan hasn't been working out that well so although I have what I think are some pretty fab details It's a struggle to keep it all in line. I'm just glad this prayer was a blessing to you

Amen!! I'm praying for you all because I know how stressful it is to plan a wedding. It was one of the hardest, most trying times of my life. May all of you be blessed and have blessed marriages!

Thank you so much for this, it helped to solidify my new decision about our wedding and our marriage. I have been so caught up with the money aspect and trying to have a wedding to remember etc that I was losing sight of what was important and in turn, beginning to lose interest in the whole planning process. It truly is stressful planning a wedding with limited funds when we also have to look for a place, get the car out of the shop etc, so this was right on time. It kind of reminds me of how when you're going through something and you step inside the church and it seems that pastor is speaking directly to you- that's what this prayer did for me. Thank you so much for this, it is truly a blessing.
God is good and I know he'll work it out in our favor, all you have to do is put him first, trust him completely and believe that he knows what is best even if at the time, you don't understand. God bless ladies and happy wedding planning.

WOW This is such an awesome blessing to hear! MY oh MY did this hit home. Here I am a little less than 9 months out and I am ready to cancel all contracts and just go to the JOP and not have a ceremony. Money is so tight and with the holidays and a huge reduction in pay in our house hold I am just worried that we wont be able to afford the vision that I had in place.

I know that GOD Will make a way for each and everyone of us and I more hopeful that with him it will happen.

I know I'm late, but AMEN and thank you for this right on time prayer!  We just decided to cut out a large expense from our wedding (free beer/wine) and go back to a cash bar.  This was hurting my heart, but I realize now that it's not about that - it's about celebrating what God has brought together!  We have big plans (outside of the wedding) and need big funds to accomplish them, so thank you for confirming that!
