Buffet meal vs. kids plate

For those who are doing a buffet for their reception, are you offering a child's plate (if children are allowed to attend) instead of the buffet meal?

Also, are you seeing a big savings on cost for food? At what age did you cap the child's plate?

I'm wondering all of this because I was looking over the meal options and noticed some fantastic kid's meals for $9.00 a plate.  Considering I will have a large number of kids there, I was thinking of making this an option for the 9 and under crew.
TIA

Even though Im not doing buffet I will not be having kids meal.  In addition to what I am paying for the adults attending I would have to pay an additional $25 per child, so the kids will be eating what adults are eating. Too bad soo sad.. I can go over my budget since I also have to pay an additional $40 per vendor, gotta make sure they eat.

We are doing a buffet, and I had it added to the contract that the kids will be able to have the buffet meal, but at the kid's meal price which for us is less than half of the adult price. Since I did that, they capped the age at 11.
