AW: Photo guestbook

I just got an email from MyPublisher: my book's almost done and about to be sent out!  A preview: http://www.mypublisher.com/?e=OHm3Q8zJl3Tzlms-SBYlN7QLYBjEcWb-&_mp=NYcG1BlXVbhfO0OraZX14VdX9k6AZ%2Bxt%0A

Should I have just black pens for signing or should I also have 1-2 silver ones in case they want to sign on dark, empty space of a pic?

I am so jealous you have soooo many great epics. I have like 10 not so perfect. Anyhow I love they way you set up your guestbook and that the cover is a pic. I personally would only set out black pens.

That looks great!!!!  Now I am thinking I should do a more personalized guestbook too! What a great keepsake.

Do you mind sharing how much it costs to do something like this. I REALLY like this idea but I'm too lazy to research it myself :)

Thanks ladies! :)  Will wait to see how it actually looks in person.

Merry - the cost of the normal photobook with 20 pages is $35 with MyPublisher.  Not sure about other places like Shutterfly and whatnot.

Looks great! You could get away with just black pens, but having a silver one wouldn't hurt just in case :)  Great pics!

Looks great! I would probably only do black pens because I would be worried about people signing on the pics, but that's just me.

That looks great!  I think both pens would be good since there is some dark space.

Love it! I am curious on how the quality will be on it once it arrives. Keep us posted.

Guest book tips - Silver pen won't be necessary. People won't feel like they can sign on the pictures and won't want to. My guests didn't even want to sign it at all.

I fine tip sharpies work best for these. You can get them in all sorts of colors at an office supply store. I got mine at paper zone. I bought charcole, sky blue, and lavender to sign the book.

Another tip - make a message for people to leave you words of advice or what they liked most about the wedding. Most of my guests just signed the book and I totally regret it. It looks kinda stupid now, but oh well. The pictures still look great.

This is what FI keeps telling me - they won't want to sign it because it'll look so nice.  I left tons of white space, and I added a couple lines blank pages in the back (and given your experience, may add more).  I told him I'm going to make a little placard thing telling people what to do, and I'm going to ask one of my BMs to tell people to leave us thoughts, words of advice, etc. and make sure the word gets around that people should actually treat it like a regular guestbook.

Thanks for the suggestions, Kare!  I wasn't sure if I should have people simply sign their names or leave tidbits of info as well.  Sounds like the tidbits might be best.

i would definitely use black and at least silver...isn't gold one of your colors too? i bought a multipack from walmart of metallic perm markers..and i left most of them out for people to sign..a few black, a few silver, a few gold, one purple, and one blue...just for variety.

Yup, I was thinking Gold as one, but I do like the idea of other colors.  Maybe I'll do purple and red too.
