African American Weddings

celebrations and worries

Celebrations:
My mom spoke with the videoagrapher who is a family friend. When they first moved to California my mom was the first real friend to his wife. They informed us that they will be doing all of their services for free as a gift to us.

The woman making the broom came over to drop off her RSVP and she told me it will have lots of sparkles. She is dong the broom as a gift because she is also a family friend who is a huge crafter. A few years ago my mom was helping with a wedding and they needed a broom at the last minute, she had never done one before and it was AMAZING!

We mailed in the first of 2 payments and the final contract to the caterer yesterday. The final menu is set at cheese crakers and fruit while the WP takes pictures and guests arrive at the museum for the reception. Dinner will be the choice between Garden Salad or Ceaser Salad, Baked Chicken Breast in a white wine sauce, rice pilaf, Veggie meledy (broc, cauliflower, carrots, and squash) and a choice of bread.

The BMs dresses are done and they should be getting them very soon. Most of them have gotten their shoes from me.

Worries

My dress is in limbo. We ordered it at a local bridal and quincenera(sp) shop and it was supposed to be in today. Apparently the liason was out on an emergency and the shop owner couldn't get in contact with the woman until this past Friday. They say the dress should be in on the 15th and when I go to try it on it takes a week to alter which means I won't have it until the 22nd.

I need to seriously buy my shoes. I know the shoes I want and I nearly bought them last night, but my mom said we should wait. I know I can get my shoes whenever so I am not that worried about them.
