What kind of Garter are you wearing?

So I wondered if any ladies were special ordering a garter for your wedding. I thought about two options: a Lakers or San Diego State (where we both went to school) garter. I haven't ordered one yet.

Or are you doing a more traditional one?

I don't think we will toss it but I will still wear one!

I'm planning to DIY mine, but now that you've mentioned it, I think I'm going to find a way to incorporate the Eagles into it. He's a huge Eagles fan, and since we're not doing anything green or manly for him, that might be a pleasant surprise.

H is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.  Here is the garter I wore.  Purchased on eBay.

Mine will be from our Alma Mater, The University of Memphis.  Go Tigers!  It will also be my "something blue."  I'm gonna change the football charm to a basketball charm too.

I don't think you NEED one, I think its more of a personal choice.  For us, we are having a small wedding in Vegas and then taking our guests out to dinner afterwards.  Since we aren't having a formal reception, I wont even be throwing the garter.  I think the only reason I'm wearing one is because he's such a huge Cowboys fan.  If he weren't and because we aren't having a reception. I probably wouldn't be wearing one to begin with.

I want it to be a surprise so because we live together already, I'm gonna have to have this shipped to my Mom's house.  FI has a tendency to peek in packages that are delivered to the house <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />

I need to find one.. My FI is a sneaker head.. (he LOVES sneakers) so if i can find one with a sneaker on it (preferably a jordan sneaker) that would be perfect!

I honestly do not care how the garter looks since its  getting tossed. Its probably going to be traditional and cheap.

I wore both and wanted to throw the smaller one, but we totally forgot to do that part at our reception.  So they are both going in the shadowbox.

I am wearing a UNC Chapel Hill one in honor of my alma mater and keeping it.  I am going to get a cheap one from Michael's or Joann's for him to actually "toss".

My garter is my something blue... blue satin with a crystal heart... one to toss and one to keep!

I have found the ebay is way cheaper then etsy.  HTH  They have every team and every color you can think of.  They also sell singles garters if you don't want to thrown or keep one.

I really only want to get one, I dont see the purpose in having two of them, as nice as it sounds. We will see.

I also had a cowboys garter! My DH is actually a huge redskins fan, but it has always been a joke that i would have a cowboys garter on my wedding day. When my DH went for the garter it originally paid it no attention because he was so caught up in the moment, once he saw it though his facial expression was priceless.

We're not doing a garter toss, but I just want one...just because. lol! to show FI later.. I saw a plum one at Michaels today for $5 bucks. lol I may go back and get it. If not I may DIY a houndstooth one with the Alabama "A" charm for our Alma Mater, The University of Alabama.
