Your Grand Finale/Exit

What will happen at the end of your reception?  How will you make your grand exit?  My venue will provide sparklers for guests, but is this the point where FI and I say our final thank you before heading out or do anything special????

Of course in New Orleans we are going to second line and we were working on getting the Zulu Mardi Gras walking tramps to come to the second line...since my reception is supposed to end at 6 pm we are going to go back to the hotel rest and then meet up again at Sweet Lorraines or Tipitinas to listen to some live jazz!! My Venue doesn't provide anything for an exit

Oh, I guess we should have a last dance...lol  FI doesn't like dances like the wobble, electric slide, etc..  Anyone have any suggestions.


@CaseynMike:  I love your idea!!  I wish I could do something fun like that.

Why couldn't you do something like that? Everyone is beginning to do all kinds of things at their weddings/receptions. You wouldn't have to hire a brass band but you could make this your money dance right before the reception is over...just an idea

<div>My DJ recommended "one love" Bpb Marley as our last dance for everyone to get on the dance floor for one last time. I am jokingly and seriously at the same time thinking of doing, "i had the time of my life" from the dirty dancing movie..lol</div>

I want to do Donna Summer "Last Dance" but I really haven't thought too much about how we will exit yet. Our ceremony and reception is at the same place AND we are staying there on the wedding night so we never really leave lol

We didn't have a grand exit. We chose We are Young - Fun to be our last song, and after it was over, we just grabbed our stuff and left. LOL. It was kind of anti-climatic.

If you want to say thank you to everyone, I think it should be before everyone goes outside. Maybe right after the last dance you say thank you, then the DJ tells everyone to grab their sparklers and go outside to send you off.

Haven't thought about the actual exit yet but I knowI want John Legend-Tonight  to be our last dance song. Its mid tempo so we can get close but still keep it up beat.. plus I LOVE that song lol

It's a boring state.....lol. When I have mentioned a money dance to people they always look at me like I'm crazy....lol

dannibear I love that song too! But FI doesn't like john legend. Is doing a soul train line to cliche for black weddings?? IDK, I'm fresh out of good ideas right now.

Are you leaving in a limo or anything?  At our venue (surburb of ATL), our DOC had all of our guests to go outside for the "farewell exit".  After everyone was outside, they made some type of announcement and H and I walked out while everyone clapped and cheered.  It was awesome!  We had a Rolls Royce and the driver was at the end of the red carpet waiting for us and greeted us with champagne.  We left in the Rolls Royce and the photographer got shots of everyone waving to us.

Hhhmmm I never thought about it either.. I know you said your FI not into dancing, etc. but you never know how that one day may change his little mind.. He gone see you and he is going to want to dance the night away.. I was in a wedding in November and they literally was so caught up in themselves that they danced the night away. they was so caught in the moment that they were the last to leave.. LOL.. well with the exception of a few bms..  I was kind of thinking of playing that song.. "i've had the time of my life, and I owe it all to you" vegas style and dance one last time with my guest and take the party to the after party, whereever that is.. We are party people. LOL..
