8. What is your dream job?  To be a socialite.  LOL.  J/K.  Development DIrector for a major non-profit organization

9. How did you and your fiance meet?  Through a mutual friend at a party

10.  When did you get engaged and how did he do it??  I think it was March 25th of last year.  He was so sweet.  I came home from work all geared up to complain about something that someone said or did at work that day.  I walked in and saw a trail of rose petals leading to the kitchen.  He had Sade playing in the background and candles all over the living room and kitchen.  He cooked dinner also.  Filet mignon, shrimp in some kind of wine sauce with portabello mushrooms and garlic mashed potatoes.  Oh! and chocolate fondue with fresh strawberries.  So yummy!  Oh!  and in the kitchen area he made a heart shape on the floor out of the rose petals.  So, then he came in to the kitchen and dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him.  Earlier that day he called my parents and asked for their blessing.  I was really impressed because he's not really the romantic type.

12. Where is the ceremony and reception?  in Greensboro, NC at a historic house near the "downtown" area.

13. What are your wedding colors? navy blue, fuchsia, and pewter

14. Where are you honeymooning?  We are taking a cruise to Belize, Grand Cayman, Isla Roatan, and Cozumel

15. Favorite wedding vendor so far?  Um, I would have to say our wedding coordinator and florist Tonya Hart.  She is awesome.  But I'm also pretty excited about our violinists.  So I guess it's a tie

16. Biggest wedding splurge?  At first it was the violinists but now that I bought a new dress I would say that it is definately my dress.

17. What is something you wish you could have at the wedding but don't?  A live band.  Oh!  And a hot air balloon ride for our grand exit.

18. Another knottie wedding you'd like to attend?  Wow!  So many.  I really would like to go to all of your weddings because I feel like I've really bonded with y'all.  I would definately like to go to the weddings  of the the brides that are having DW .  Mrclintonsfirstlady, 'cause we have been war buddies in this whole wedding planning thing.  YasJas, she's so creative and clever.  Derekandtiffany, 'cause I love her venue, former AAW Knottie mycicybride 'cause she had awesome ideas and she luv weddings.  She's the one that helped me come up with my theme.  OFF, 'cause I want some chocolate and wine, Mypasmita, 'cause she's hillarious and so much fun.  And of course I want to be in MIABRIDE's wedding.  See, there are so many!

19. Favorite book?  Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston

20. Favorite movie?  The Color Purple

21. Favorite tv show?  Anything on HGTV

22. Favorite wedding dress designer?  Vera Wang and well, Matthew Christopher ('cause he's my wedding dress designer)

Any advice you can give?  Keep things in perspective.  This is just one day and you have a life to live after the wedding.  When you see great new ideas and cutesy things that other brides are doing make sure that it doesn't cause you to go over your budget.  Little things add up.  Geesh, I wish I could follow my own advice.

24. Anything you wish you could change about your wedding?  Uhh...yeah, my budget!

25. Share something about yourself!!  I have a fear of dying of Toxic Shock Syndrome.  ( LOL  just can't think of anything.)

Ksturgis, I was looking forward to your biggest pet peeve question.  In fact I thought of it this morning  when I came into work, before finding out that I was Knottie of the Day.  My biggest pet peeve is ignorance, and I am surrounded by it (co-workers not clients).  It just burns me up when you have the resources to obtain more in life intelectually (especially considering that some people don't), but you choose to be a dumb azz and not expose yourself to things that are more intellectually stimulating.  The new term to describe individuals with disabilities formerly known as mental retardation (that's a bad word) is intellectual disability.  Well, that may be too broad of a term because I work with people who appear to have severe intellectual disabilities (and again, I'm not talking about clients).  Co-workers that can't spell simple words or formulate a simple sentence with a subject and a predicate.  There is no need for that.  It infuriates me.  Sorry, I just had to vent right quick.  So that's my biggest pet peeve NWR.  WR, I would say the fact that as soon as you say "wedding" the price sky rockets.  I've been telling people that I'm having a bat mitzvah instead.

Favorite moment with FI?

I don't know there are many.  Probably our date to see The Last Poets.  I really enjoyed the performance, and although I am a fan of their work, I've never seen them perform live.  A close second would be our date to the Opera.

Celeb would like to sock in the right eye?

Tiger Woods definately!  Dude, what were you thinking? 

Oh!  And thanks for complimenting my proposal.  I was pretty impressed too.

Those wedding colors were exactely what we were going to go with, but then changed the navy to a light pink and added a brown (crazy but I hope it comes together)

I love their eyes were watching God to. I think it was the first book I read in the English Language

Tyswife2b, I'm glad I didn't miss it too.  I thought that I was supposed to be Knottie of the day in April.  I was afraid that I was going to miss it because Wednesdays are hectic days for me.  What is the facial expression about on your new siggy pic, are you and FI trying to look like you're hard core. LOL.  If so, it worked.  I'm scuured!  I would get rid of at least half of my co-workers and replace them all with smart people.  LOL. 

YAY!  I get to be an honary member of MIABRIDE"s bridal party.  South Beach here I come!  LOL.  I will tell FI that his proposal was Knottie approved.  LOL

If you could spend an hour with any famous person, living or dead, who would it be and why?  I would say Assata Shakur.  I'm reading her autobiography now, and she is just such a fascinating person. 

What song best decsribes your relationship?  I would say "Everything" by Alannis Morrisette.  In the song she describes how some of her personality traits could appear somewhat contradictory, she's all of these great things and all of things negative things, but he loves every part of her, good and bad.  That's how I feel about my FI.  I'm amazed at what he puts up with.  LOL.  We were friends for a lil' while before we started dating, and he got to know the uncensored me, but he was still interested in me.  And I was shocked!  LOL.  Your current mood?  A Change Is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke, because every evening I complain to my FI about my day at work and how I need to be making more money and working for a job that acknowledges and appreciates my education and skills, and I know that one day I will.

What three things must you have when you leave the house?
My cell phone, my engagement ring, and my flash drive that holds all of my music.
