Disappointed...

I got my wedding picture cd today. Far fewer pictures than I expected. Lots of things I expected to see that are not there. Hardly any detailed shots or pictures of FI and I together with just the two of us. I don't feel motivated to select shots for an album at all. Lots of candids of the same people over and over, but with two photographers for 8 hours, I expected to get lots of coverage. Only two shots of me getting my makeup done. No shots of my shoes or jewelry although I KNOW she took some. None of the reception venue before people arrived. None of the outside of the venue even though we had tables set up outside as well as in. None of the bar or guests space in any of the multiple rooms that we had for the reception. None of the cocktail hour. I just asked my photographer if she had more pictures that were not on my cd. She said she'd look and see. That doesn't sound promising. She apologized, but I'm bummed.

With that said, no matter how much you love your photographer's work...make a shot list of the things that are really important to you ladies. Please, please, please. My parents' wedding photos have just as many if not more useable pics than mine will.

So sorry to hear that you are going through this. Hopefully she made a mistake and will find other picutres to add to the cd. With two photographers for that amount of time you should definitely have a wide selection to choose from.

Awww Eagles thats terrible... Wonder if she had a camera malfunction that destroyed a lot of your shots??? I am sorry to hear that you are not as excited about your wedding photos as you should be.  Hopefully once, she goes through everything she will stumble across the rest of your shots

Awwwww! I'm so sorry to hear this.  I hope she finds more if she has them.  Did anyone of your bridesmaids take any getting ready shots?  I know it's not the same but at least it's still a photo.

Thanks ladies. I guess I'm bummed because I just knew I'd love them and I'm a little angry at myself for being so trusting. Photos are a pretty big deal and I completely put them in their hands. I'm hoping that more turn up. My friend used her and got 1200 shots out of 1 photographer for 8 hours. I got a total of 816? It doesn't add up. I knew we didn't take an astronomical amount of formals, but I expected that while we were going throughout the day, someone would be taking detail shots, candids, etc. and someone would have their eye on DH and I. It just makes sense to me.

As for my bridesmaids taking pictures, I don't remember a single camera aside from the photographer's. We just all kind of knew she was there and let her do her thing. Once again...my bad.

Aww man...that's unbelievable. Did you ask if she had more pics of "specific" shots? And 2 photographers? Hopefully it was a mistake & your photog is able to find more pics.

 And I'm glad you advised everyone to have a list of must-have shots. I got a template awhile back (I think a knottie on here posted some) that had a list of shots you could check off if you wanted them. I gave it to my photog after our e-session 2 weeks ago. Let's just hope she gets everything that was checked on the list!

Wow, so sorry to hear that. It really sucks that you did not get the pictures you asked for but hopefully she can find some extra pics for you. I sent my photographer a list of MUST TAKE shots from us getting dressed to the end of thenight. I told her i would not be happy AT ALL if those shots are not there

WOW!!! So sorry to hear this - hopefully she finds more shots. I'm wondering if she only gave you pics from one photog and not the other? 816 shots for 8 hours just doesnt right even if it's just from one photog. This is one of my worst fears and I will definitely have a convo with my photog about must-take shots.

So sorry to hear this. I was going to trust my photographer to do his job too but after reading this I will take your advise and give him a list.

Worse comes to worse and you find out they don't have any other photos. Can you create a photo share website and ask your guests if they can upload pictures that they may have taken themselves. I know they won't be professional but you might be surprised what your guests took.

Anything is better than nothing. Again I'm sorry for your situation. I would be pissed! These photographers are not cheap!

That's awful.  Really.  There's no excuse for your photographer missing those shots.  Particularly the couple shots.  How do you overlook taking gazillion pics of the bride and the groom?  Unfortunately, I know several brides that this has happened to.  What was worse for them is that they did give a list of "must take" photos.  I am sorry that this happened to you.  I, like everyone, else hope that the pics you are hoping to see come up some way, some how.

I gave my photographer a shot list and she was thankful that I did.  She wanted to make sure she got the pics I wanted.  I got over 1000 pics with 1 photographer.  I love my pics.  I have to pic 50 for her photo book.  I am also waiting on the video that she is doing.   

I am soooo sorry that your did not get the pics you wanted.  Here is another idea... reach out to your guests... create a share photo site and ask them to up load their pics.  Maybe you will get the shots that you wanted.  I did this and one person put up 319 shots. It is impossible for the photographer to get all of the shots, but they should have gotten more then that with 2 people.  

At my wedding I had little cards (free from VP) at each each seat asking them to up load their pics to shutterfly.com   I gave them the logon name and password.   So far so good....

I'm so to hear this happened to you. My photographer missed a few of our must have shots too, but we still came out with over 1200 pics. Hopefully, she will find some other so you'll be able to get motivated to complete your album.
