For those of you who have a goal weight for the wedding....how do you stay motivated to stay on track?? Lately the cakes, cookies, ice cream and donuts have been calling my name....

When I was dieting to fit in my dress one thing I would do is not deny myself the sweets. I would pick one day like saturday if I stuck to my diet the rest of the week a bowl of ice cream or three cookies or something like that also the low calorie snacks are good that way you don't feel like you are not getting anything sweet. I am going throught the same problem but I started using this app on my phone to track the calories I eat. When I used to it the weight started to come off  but then i got lazy and started thinking about the bad foods and then I stopped tracking but I am going to start again this week.

Girl, I know exactly what you mean. For me it's dark chocolate that keeps calling my name. I just try to remind myself that I do not want to be where I was 30lbs ago, so I have to calm it down. I do allow myself a treat and when I do I just go extra hard in the gym that day or the next.

Hello Cupcake and Krispy Kreme are right down the street from my block.  Everyday is a challenge for me.  UGH!  I am keeping myself on track in a few ways:

    1)  I have the dress I plan to wear to my rehearsal dinner hanging up on the door to my bathroom.  I purposely got that dress at the size I plan to be.

    2) I don't deny myself sweets.  If I want it, I eat it.  If I let it build up I will go crazy and eat way to much.

    3) My mirror.  I look at myself everyday and visualize where I want to be.  Seeing the "rolls" makes me eager to keep on working out.

    4) My wardrobe.  I have so many clothes that I love that I can't get into at my current weight.  I know as I start to lose the pounds I am going to have a whole lot of clothing options.  Right now my wardrobe is limited and I refuse to buy anything unless it is absolutely necessary.

    5)  Lastly, from my last doc exam, my sugar levels were border line.  THIS IS THE BIGGEST REASON FOR ME TO LOSE WEIGHT.   I am not taking my sugar levels to the big "D" side at all.

Not judging you at all.  I completely understand.  I do love what you baby sister said.  I think I will write that down and put it on my fridge and on my computer at work.  :)

I use two approaches. If I want that sweet bad enough then I have to increase my workout. Sometimes thats enough to talk me out of it or I'll just go the extra mile to burn it off. The other thing I do is my own version of "eat THIS not THAT." I'll list some examples.

Cookies=Animal Crackers or the Snackwell cookies
    Ice Cream= Yogurt or Sherbert
Milkshake (my fave!)= low calorie smoothie
Soda/Pop= weekends only or Coke Zero, Sprite Zero, etc.
    Sugary Juice= Crystal light
Donuts/Cupcakes= Well there is no substitue in my eyes so I just stay away :)
