    10.  When did you get engaged and how did he do it?? We got engaged May 7th 2010 (a week before my birthday - I thought he was going to propose on my birthday, but he surprised me) He took me to a babyface concert and asked in front of a crowd of people. I always thought I wanted a private proposal, but that night was magical :)

<div>Yes girl - born and raised! I definitely plan on incorporating m culture in my wedding, especially since my FI is Nigerian as well. From the food, to the music, to my second dress, guests will know for sure that they are at a Nigerian wedding lol. My parents are even getting a Nigerian dance group to perform as part of the entertainment.</div>

When did your family come to the US?  How often do you get to go home?

I love Lazaro too.  The gowns have great details.  I don't blame you on the chivari chairs.  There were no other chairs for me either.  LOL!

What about your wedding are you most looking forward to saying "I Do"?

How did you decide on your wedding date?

<div>We moved here in 2000 - I haven't been home since then. I hate that, but hopefully will go in the next couple of years. I'm looking forward to my dad walking down the aisle and seeing FI at the alter - I'm sure I'll be a mess in tears. Also looking forward to the HM - I haven't had a vacation all year since I've been with the company less than a year, I get a measly 3 weeks of vacation, so saving it all for the wedding and holidays. Needless to say Im tired, stressed and in DIRE need of a break! My wedding date revolved around my work schedule. FI's schedule is a little more flexible than mine.</div><div>

<div>We'll see about the twitter updates lol...I'm not even on twitter, but maybe one of the wedding guests can do it. </div><div>
</div><div>The guest list is freaking me out! We were supposed to be at 200, then it shot up to 250 - there are a couple more people I would love to invite from work - they really helped me out when I started with the company, but I just cant accomodate them at this time. I'm so over that list! </div><div>
</div><div>The dreams have been going on for a while - mostly about vendors not showing up. I remember that bridezilla episode where the florist didnt show and the bride was freaking out! My family, especially my MOH (sister) has been awesome. They really have all been helpful and it's times like this I'm grateful for a huge family. </div><div>
</div><div>My bridezilla moments have mostly come with the guest list - I've had to put my foot down on several occasions. You just have to draw the line somewhere! </div>

I have always enjoyed reading your posts and I'm glad to get to know you a little more.

My FI is also from Lagos and I'm learning that many people come to weddings that aren't invited. This is normal. How are you going to handle it if this happens?

    <div>Thanks Carla! </div><div>
</div><div>Regarding the uninvited guests - one word: SECURITY! My parents are against this, but I've been to several weddings that look unorganized because of uninvited guests. The venue having to scramble and set up tables at the last minute - just plain craziness. So if your name is not on the list, you will be politely told that this is an "invitation only" event.</div>

<div>I think we're pretty much set in Atl. If we do move, it would be to the NY/NJ area since FI was born and raised in NY and his family still lives there. We considered moving last year when FI's dad got sick, but he's doing better much better now. We both recently just got jobs in Atl and moved here from FL, so no plans to move any time soon. My family lives here too, so that's a major bonus and we both love it here.</div>

I love getting to know all you lovely ladies every week!  This is a blast!  It is very nice reading about you, your culture and your wedding.  If you had the money to do whatever you want for the wedding what would be the one big splurge item?  I'm not sure for myself.  I'm having such a small wedding(42 invited including and I) and I love it!

The good thing is the weeks I dont travel, I work from home so I have some flexibility there if I need to run out and go get something done or meet with vendors.</div>

How are you able to get peonies in October? That's my favorite flower; they smell heavenly. When I asked my florist about getting them, she said it would cost an arm and a leg so I just let it go lol.
