10.  When did you get engaged and how did he do it?? 07/23/2010. He proposed at my house while I was getting ready to go out with my girls for my birthday. He had given me a promise ring. He asked if he could clean it and had the engagement ring in the jewelry cleaner. I pulled the cleaner our and told him this ins't my ring and he said yes it is and asked me to marry him.

25. Share something about yourself!!  I am quite reserved person. I was in love with weddings until probably the last month. Now I just want this to be over so I can marry my best friend.

Hello BCBSBride, very nice to meet you!  That is cool your honeymoon is in Vegas;  I am getting married in Vegas in December. We are getting married on a Thursday and all my family keeps asking me why I am doing it during the week and I told them Vegas is expensive on the weekends and I figured people can make a long weekend out of it or leave before the price hike. I find it funny because no one is helping us pay for it. Oh well!  My wedding they can come or not, I'm too this point now. Lol!  Good luck with everything!  Have you had any stress related to the wedding planning and how are you handling it?

My biggest stress headaches have come from my sister. She has been giving me hell and complaining from the day I told her I was engaged. We don't have a close relationship, but she feels that she has to have something to say`on any and everything. I am dealing with this by not discussing anything with her. When she makes her snide remarks I tell her that my FI and I are payinf for everything ourselves so she can either get on board with our decisions or not show up at all.

I love it!  Sorry your sister is your biggest headache instead of your biggest supporter,sometimes thing happen like that. Way to stick to your guns!  Good luck!

Hi Danielle.  I see your dream job is to be a nurse.  My Mom was a nurse but is now retired.  Her area of specialization was pediatrics and maternal medicine.  What area woud you like to be in as a nurse?

Tell us about your venue as you say that is your fav vendor and splurge.

I would love to be a traveling nurse that specializes in pediatrics or a surgical nurse. My biggest splurge was my venue. It has this beautiful staircase and chandliers that I just fell in love with one I saw it. My menu is pretty simple (soup, salad, bread, baked chicken or salmon, rice pilaf and green beans). We originally were having a cash bar, but decided since we are going to be partying on a Friday evening why not have a open bar.

Thanks for the advice on question 23. I ALWAYS hear people say, "never go to bed angry," but i have to say i'm guilty of not practising that. How do you resolve any issues/arguments with ur FI if you've argued right before going to bed. Sorry if this is a silly question.

I actually got this advice from my parents (they have been married for 42 years) and also from going through the death of my previous FI.  When I am upset or angry with him I pray and ask God to direct me in how to approach him. I let him calm down before approaching him and then we both discuss whatever the problem is. We may not agree with each other, but at least we have talked about our problems to resolve our issue.

What made you choose 11.11.11?  Did you find that vendors pressured you for a quicker decision since it was "such a popular date?"

That is my date as well.  My FI picked it out on 10.10.10 (while we were at IHOP) before we were even engaged...lol!  Didn't think he would actually remember he said that!  I finally just learned to tell vendors, "fine, go with whoever is next in line if you must, but dont rush me!!!"  Turns out most were bluffing :-)

We had originally picked August 27, 2011, but changed the date to 11/11/11 because it fell on a Friday, it was a little bit cheaper and we could stay within our budget all while having a date the FI would not forget as our anniversary.

Nice to meet you Danielle! 11.11.11 is the date FI and I originally wanted but that would've given us 7 months to plan and that just wasn't going to happen. Now that I'm going through the process I kinda wished we pushed for that date cause it would be over! Why did you pick Vegas as your honeymoon spot?

Nice to meet you.  I love your engagement story.  I think that is so sweet.  I wanted to have my wedding on 11/11/2011, but decided to do Thanksgiving weekend. Have you completed all of your projects.

@faithlady Orginially I wanted to go to Puerto Rico, but FI has never been to Las Vegas and really wanted to go there for the honeymoon. So I decided to compromise and go to Vegas since I made most of the choices regarding the wedding and reception.

@msktn95 No, I haven't finished all my projects. I'm waiting until 2 weeks before to do my seating chart, programs and favors. And I'm still trying to decide what else to get my BMs. Otherwise, I think I'm done.

Hello Danielle, so nice to meet you.  I loooove Criminal Minds, too!  I'm such a junkie for that show.  I know you said you originally wanted a destination wedding.  Would the destination have been Puerto Rico too, being that was where you originally wanted to honeymoon or were you thinkning somewhere else?  Do you have a large or small bridal party?

Hey Danielle!! Your engagement story is similar to mine. My fiance had given me a ring for Christmas and took it back to get it resized and ended up giving me my engagment ring in addition to the first ring. You said you were getting ready to go out with your girls when your FI proposed. Did you end up spending that time with your FI? or did you all go out together and celebrate your engagement?

@carla1019 I have a 14 year old daughter. My FI doesn't have any children. He wants one. At first I did not want anymore children because my daughter is 14, but I now realize it would be selfish of me not to at least try.

@ejagers Yes, my DW would have been puerto rico. My wedding party has 1 matron of honor, 1 maid of honor, 2 bridesmaids, 2 bestmen, 2 groomsmen, 2 flowergirls and 1 ring bearer.

@prettycw5 MY FI and I ended up spending the day together. I called my girls and we rescheduled for the next weekend.
