Any Whoo... is any one else doing a destination Wedding?
Are you having a party/reception back home after the big day?

We want to have one but here is my issue....
We are planning for a sept/oct wedding away.....

I dont know if we should try to squeeze in having our home party before thanksgiving *wondering if that is just doing way too much* or possibly waiting til the spring.... would that be too late to do it?

ugh see.... sorry i am having a moment here trying to get these venues lined up.....

  • Hey there! Sorry I have no advice just wanted to say you are a smart cookie! why o why didn't I put my foot down on a destination wedding???

I would have BIG $$$ in my pocket and less grey hairs on my head.
    Wedding date July 7, 2012
  • I just checked your date and since it's end of September, I think planning something that is end of October should work out fine.

I am having a "domestic" destination wedding, meaning most of FI's and my family lives on the east coast and we are having the Wedding in AZ. For this reason I decided to at least have my bridal shower in NY where my MOH lives.
    Anniversary
  • I'm having a "domestic" destination wedding in Miami, Fl in September ont eh beach at 9:00 am, then we leave the same day for a 7 day cruise.  We leave September 29th and return October 6th so we need to have enough time to get the pictures and everything back to show everyone.  We are having someone create a video presentation with our pictures.  This was everyone's request when we said destination and they could not come. We are having a close family and close friend dinner/luncheon November 3 or 10th in our home state.  We are inviting about 50 people to the event and sending out invitations, having a cake, etc.

We are doing a sit down or buffet style and he's been married before so I told him if they went to that one, they do not need to come to this one......
  • You should be fine for November. My wedding isn't destination but the date is Nov 11. It's a couple weeks before Thanksgiving, so I figured that should be fine. Good luck!

  • I am doing a destination wedding, but I am having my reception there. No reception at home. We were initally going to do a bon voyage party, but it just wasn't in the budget.  My family tried to organize a family meet and greet prior to the wedding, but everyone had conflicting schedules being as though my family all live out of town it just became too much.
  • I'm doing a destination wedding but my reception will be in Vegas right after the wedding....
  • I am. Not sure if we're gonna do something big later.
