Recent brides who used photoshare cards

Did people actually upload photos to your sites? There is a new one out there called irave that doesn't require guest to have a log-in and I'm thinking about trying it out.

Not a single, solitary photo was uploaded to ours, lol.

Nope. Most people seemed to share on Facebook but that didn't work well since not all my guests are friends with each other.

I'm a sort of recent bride, I guess? My family uploaded all their photos to irave when I emailed them the instructions.

I think it depends on the process (how easy it is and how much time out of the day it will take people to do it) and how often your friends share pictures anyway (along with how many photos they take).

I don't know what melissa or _kst used for photo sharing, but shutterfly, flickr, picasa all seem to require some sort of login or registration, or sharing of an upload login and password. Of all the various photo options I researched and played around with, I liked the ease of irave most for people who may be technology illiterate and those who hate registrating and sharing more information than they have to with some site. Worse comes to worse, they can email all their photos to wedding@mywedding.irave.com for instance.

For next  year, most of my friends and family have dslrs and frequently review and edit photos through lightroom to share some place, and so I expect they'll share photos in high quality one way or another, and if asked (or reminded) would probably throw them on irave too for my convenience sake. I'm selfish. I'm not asking them to share photos with me so other people can see, but so I can see everything I missed. XD

    :)

I used shutterfly - and provided little reminder/how to cards in our favors - and not one upload yet!  a lot of our guests have used facebook and people have even sent me cds of their pics....but not an upload to our photoshare site!

I used Photobucket and provided a little business card-sized "how to" (I think based off Jennyann's). I created a new Photobucket account just for the wedding so it had the userid and password and nobody would have to sign up for anything.

I only had three guest upload photos. We used photobucket. I just don't think most people take the time to care enough to do it or they lose the information for the log in. Most of my guests uploaded photos to facebook, but they are on facebook anyway, so it is convient with them. The problem with facebook is it lowers the resolution, so you don't get quality prints if you have them printed. After telling my Aunt this she still only loaded her pictures to facebook and not to our photoshare site. I give up.

I used shutterfly and only 2 guests uploaded pics. I had created a generic account for them. Gave them little photo share business cards with login info on them and still of 85 guests- only 2 uploads.

Oh - I actually just checked our site and three more people have uploaded pictures - and some great pictures at that!  Even though i doubt many more people will add their pics, i'm still glad we gave out the photoshare cards!
