How did you...

word your response card? I am looking for a way to politely convey to guests that my wedding is not a free-for-all. Also, if any of you are NOT having the ceremony and reception at the same time, but have opted NOT to do a separate reception card, how did you word the reception information on the invitation.

Thanks in advance for your help...I meet with a potential invitation designer in a couple of weeks if I don't go with the awesome Etsy seller that was suggested on the board earlier. Wanna get as many details squared away as possible before we meet.

Hi. This is how our response card is worded:

We look forward to celebrating with you, and we have reserved __ seat(s) in your honor.

    M___________

    _____ accepts with pleasure

    _____ decline with regrets

    Hope that helps  :)

    I used:

    Number attending: ____ of 2.

Of course, people are still crossing out my number. Undecided

We are not (as of right now) having a separate reception card so at the bottom of the invite it just has the name and address of the place the reception will be held. There will be a separate response card.

    This is the wording I planned on using...I can't believe , though, that people cross out the number<img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-yell.gif" border="0" alt="Yell" title="Yell" />

Yes, girl! I suppose they assume it's merely a suggestion?

Thanks for the suggestions...if anyone else has any, keep them coming.

I will let you know what I decide...as well as how many of my crazy family members completely disregard the number of invited guests...with my crew, it is INEVITABLE!

We used one similar to this and people still crossed out or wrote over our numbers. Needless to say I had to make a few uncomfortable phone calls.

We made our own invites so we typed individual names on the response cards.  We also had individual RSVP ID numbers to RSVP on our website.  If you didn't have an ID number, you couldn't RSVP.  Making the response cards was a little time consuming, but so worth it!!! We had no problems
