FI very upset---one GM down

Babe is so upset, but happy for his friend. His friend got a promotion (a great one) and is being immediately transferred to Oklahoma, him and his family. We are so happy for them and this great thing that has happened for them. But this is one of FI's childhood friends and he is sad that Ron won't get to be there with us and stand up for him that day. Trying to cheer him up. Ron feels sad about it to, said he doesn't wanna let us down like that. I told him don't worry about us, we are excited for them and if they can still come to the wedding then PLEASE do so. He said that he is going to get there and get settled in and see if he can make that happen. Just trying to cheer babe up, I feel bad for him. Of all his GM he was most excited about having Ron with him.

Awww well congrats for ur friend but I'm sry tha ur FI won't have his friend there.  GOD is in control and who knows they may b ur wedding surprise.

Thanks Chantil. I hate to see him upset like that, he's usually a happy go lucky kinda guy. I hope Ron and his wife will be able to make it. And we do wish them the best this is a wonderful thing for them.

The wedding is 3 months away Ron should be able to arrange to come back if just for the day to be there for his boy.  Maybe you could talk to Ron on the side and express how important this is to your FI and surprise your FI.  Sorry he is upset but glad he understands and is happy for his friend.

We're hoping that he is able to. But I also know it is rough not just getting your self settled into a new place but your whole family. We don't want to put that kinda pressure on them.

Awww.  Good for his friend.  I hope he can work something out and still be there.

Of all the reasons for someone not to be able to stand up for their friend this is an honorable one. It could be that he is like some of my FI's raggedy friends and just suck! lol I know that God will work things out no matter what and it might not be Ron that is able to stand up but he will send someone and everything will be great no matter what!

Thanks ladies, I am gonna let FI read this post. I do feel bad for the both of them lol. But Ron is a stand up guy and a great friend to FI.
