Need Birthday Gift Ideas....

Hi guys,

FI's birthday is coming up next month and I need ideas for his gift.  He's going to be back early April and that's when we will celebrate it.  Any ideas I bring up to him, he said he doesn't need it.  So I could really use some ideas for a gift.

I know this is a little interesting but people are doing boudior pictures.

I went with something off the registry and so did his parents for Christmas.

Also, we did a trip. I booked a B&B and planned the whole weekend.

    Thanks for the great ideas!!

For the boudior pictures, I was thinking  (maybe and that's a long maybe) doing it as a wedding present.

I love the B&B weekend idea, but we are planning a road trip already for a week....would that be too similar.

I am making an album for our Singapore trip and he already knows about it and we are getting pictures taken of us when he gets back, because he was complaining that we don't have that many good pictures of us.  I want him to be surprised!!  Any other ideas...?

Here are some things I've gotten FI before that he liked:
    -noice canceling earphones
    -cashmere socks
-sports stuff (tennis shorts, swim trunks, new racket, etc)
If he has any hobbies, it's usually easy to go with related items. GL!

I have no ideas to contribute. FI is hard to give a gift to. If he wants something, he buys it. He doesn't wear jewelry aside from a wrist watch, which is water-proof, with digital world clock where he can also have 2 time zones displayed.... which he has local and India standard time.  *sigh*

I think if you handcraft something, that may work. One of the gift occassions I plan to either cross-stitch or do a pencil drawing for FI.

What about booking a massage for him or even a couples one.(if he is into that sourt of thing)  Many spas will give you the first one for a discounted rate most of the time...

DH is also one of those guys who buys whatever he wants, so I was able to get him a big gift once (leather jacket), but usually I have to go for the small stuff, like homemade cookies, a book of poetry, or vinyl because he's into his sound system.  They're all small things, but that way I can surprise him.

I feel like I am one of those guys who is crazy hard to shop for...

A very nice cold weather set!
You cannot go wrong with a cashmere glove, scarf and hat set. Gotta stay warm!

They can get a little pricey but they are so useful, especially if you get a very nice black or dark gray set - goes with just about anything.

since we are on the topic of gifts for guys....

I love those shaving mirror (vanity make up mirrors).
They are retractable from the wall and come with a ring light, magnified on one side.
    These are great for shaving!

It's one of those things a guy sees at bed bath and beyond but cannot figure out how it can be useful for him...i used them and it makes shaving so much better and easier.

No more missing a spot, or stretching over the counter to get closer to the wall mirror to see how the shave is going...

Plus I think most girls would agree that this type of mirror is usefull for makeup, eyebrow grooming etc.

This made me laugh because my brother would love that.... He is the type of guy who cares a lot about his appearance (and, yes, does his eyebrows), and now I'm thinking I will get him that for his next birthday!  DH, on the other hand, has a full beard and is somewhat farsighted, so even on the occasion he does trim it, he's barely over the sink!

I also like the idea of an activity gift, like Mimosa suggested.  It could be anything really, whatever he likes doing, like a car show, go-carting, skiing, or a concert.
