Are you hiring someone to get you ready for the ceremony?

I'm 3 months away from the wedding and I've whittled my list down, but am finding new questions almost every week. :) I was thinking about how I would get ready for the actual ceremony . I do plan on having someone to do my hair & makeup, but aside from that it's soooo much work to get the dupatta on properly and draped over your body. Or how about if you want an elegant bindi design over the brows? Will you ladies be hiring someone to help you get all this done or is someone in the family going to help?

Thanks!

    Hi rsharma3

I have the person doing my hair/makeup also getting me dressed.  She'll be putting on my dupatta, indian jewelry, eyebrow bindis etc....In toronto there are many many 'makeup/hair/dupatta setting' vendors so its something that is def done.

    Hope that helps

At first I thought I could get someone in my family to help with getting me dressed but now I am leaning towards hiring someone for that. But at the same time it seems crazy to have three different people for three different things.

I am in love with my hair stylist and I wouldnt trust my hair to anyone else, so I am not going to compromise on that. The makeup person maybe, but I feel like the desi dressers around the area are not my style of makeup, so who knows.

Just another thing to add to the list, like you said!

Yes I am hiring someone to do my makeup to the hair and getting me dressed for both the ceremony and reception. I chose to go with one person so it flows better. I got a trial done to be sure of the look I wanted. You  have lots going on the day of the wedding, dont rely on anyone like friends or fam to get you ready..thats just my opinion

Ditto - makeup/hair stylist helped with the head dupatta, but also, one of my really good friends traveled with us from home to the temple, so she helped with the dupatta on the shoulder  as well, and for good company sakes too :) :)

I have heard of girls hiring people for this and I think I may be one of them. I like the idea, although I am not sure what anyone has personally done that I know of. Looking a mess is not an option on that day, and having flustered family members who are distracted is not either.
