What are you doing for thank yous?

I feel like in the next few weeks I need to figure this out! It would be neat to do customized thank yous either with a picture or something personal.

What are you doing?
Where are you getting them?

Also, my shower is going to be the week before the wedding so I'm guessing it's okay if I can finish them before the wedding? Or do I need to try extra hard to get them done and in the mail before so that I am not sending out both thank you's at the same time? TIA!

Ill probably just get/.make cute thank you cards for my shower/wedding, haven't really thought about that.

But for my parents as a thank you we are taking them whale watching becuase my mom ALWAYS talks about wanting to do it.  Not sure what we will do for his parents...

You could get away with sending your thank yous all at once if your shower is a week before the wedding.  I think people will understand your busy with wedding stuff, and most people are just happy to get thank yous...which a lot of people don't do anymore

Are you talking about shower thank yous or wedding thank yous? Or are you using the same for both?

I used regular generic thank yous for my shower. For the wedding I picked a photo, put our name and date over it and made it into a card on Vistaprint:




You probably won't end up sending your wedding TYs at the same time. You'll have your HM and then possibly have to wait for photos, etc. I would try to send your shower thank yous before the wedding.

It depends on when I decide to send them out.. FI and I purchased cute blue and green thank yous from target the other day so those will be some of them. We really want to use a picture like Melissa suggested but I'm not sure how long it'll take for us to get our photos back. I'd like to get all of the thank yous done while lying on the beach in mexico but we'll see..

For my shower I am just using generic pretty ones.  I'd really like to do a photo card for the wedding ones though (Melissa, I love yours!).  Is your shower huge?  I'd try to just crank them out before the wedding.

Thanks girls! That is probably what I will end up doing- using pretty generic ones for the shower and I make a thank you sign for FI and I to hold up for a wedding photo that we will use to make our thank you cards. I just love that idea. Hopefully I coould ask our photographer to give me that one early and then use vistaprint to print them!

I bought aqua colored cards and envelopes and some sticky rhinestones and white cardstock at Paper Zone, a custom stamp at Impress, and voila - 

ETA:  I don't know yet if I'll do different cards for the wedding presents.  I have two custom stamps - this one, and one that looks the same, but says Thank You instead, so I could just use that one for the dupes.

And I'll admit that if I were you and having my shower just a week before the wedding, I'd send out TY cards after the wedding instead of sending them out two different times.  But my shower is 2 1/2 months before the wedding, so we'll be doing them at two different times.

Yeah, i agree with the others, generic for the shower. That's what I did. And now I love Melissa's idea of the picture card for the wedding thank you's.

For my Chicago shower, I created ones with my cricut - - cut an umbrella with hearts raining on it and thank you in script.  My MOH bought me thank yous that match the invites she bought for my WA shower. 

For the wedding, I'm going to print an blank ivory cards - the same ones I used for my STDs - our new monogram that I created.  It is FI's last name in large bold font with both of our first names in script under it.  Then I will just hand write on the inside.

I think if you have enough time to get 'em out before the shower to do it, but if you don't  maybe send those first then wedding ones a week later?
