Okay, so we went to Bridal Mart today. I really liked Mori Lee #3071. Mom really liked Alfred Angelo #2003. I also tried on a dress I could NOT get out of my head from several weeks ago when I saw it online -- Allure #W255.
Well, the Allure fit like a dream and looked like I thought it would. It's beyond the budget, but was nice to put on! Not THE dress, but I did like it a lot.
We also looked at BM dresses -- had my MOH and a BM there for looking. We found some top contenders but didn't know if they came in my color (kelly green as 1st choice, shamrock as 2nd choice) -- looked it up online when we got home and we were disappointed to find that both of our top 2 BM dresses don't come even CLOSE to the green I have selected. For some reason those two designers are obsessed with pastel colors. So we picked our 3rd choice, and it's more of a sheath, which isn't quite what I wanted for them -- I wanted a fun / flirty a-line with bubble skirt for some bounce! Anyway... we may be back at David's for bridesmaids dresses after all.
We're going to make another appointment at Davids Bridal (she wasn't with me the 1st time) and look at a few more - #9T9861 was my top pick, also want to see 9T3090 again, and will look at 3 new ones I didn't try on last time -- #9WG9984, #9WF3153, and #9WF9854.
My only issue with my top pick at Davids (9T9861) is that the back of the train is a little too plain -- it needs a second layer of fabric underneath, or buttons down the back, or something. Not sure what, but we'll see what we can do with it when I try it on again. For $299, and being VERY happy with the fit of the dress and its modesty, we can get some buttons sewn on for the alterations and it may be "just the right touch." Plus, it's in the satin that I really like.
July 16, Our Wedding Day, is also International Juggling Day!
