Aww thanks Sharingourlove!  You made my day!  It's Monday, but I'm trying to have a positive outlook for the week.   I hope that everything is going ok for you at work too.  *Hugs*

    Ditto, meganhardan.

Thanks for thinking about us, and I hope work is alright on your end too!

It is kinda awkward on my end.  One of the ladies on my team has "de-friended" me on facebook, and everyone else on the team is avoiding me like the plague.  I'm not giving any notice though for at least another 6-9 months, because I need to build up my savings after the wedding so I can pay my rent when I am unemployed/job searching.  If they want to get rid of me, they'll need to pay me/the state some Unemployment $$$.... biznatches :P

One of the hardest things to do is to pretend that nothing is wrong and that you don't see how they are treating you.  I jsut keep telling myself that it's a temp job and not my life and think about the great things that I do have in my future.  As my sister has told me "they can't take your birthday so why is anything they say important".  I know it hurts when you're treated poorly.

Been thinking about how to make the work situation tolerable until I can leave; what I can do to make it through each day.  Thoughts?

My ideas to survive a lame workplace:

I have a "countdown" of post-its, I tear a piece for each day before I go on Wedding/Honeymoon vacation.  Including today, only 8 more work days to go!!!!

My office has about 75 employees, so even though my team is being rude, there are still another 68 employees in the office, some of whom I do like.  So I try to ignore the stink-heads when they're being lame, and focus on the nice people I work with.

Then I vent (often) to my FI via Google Chat or in person.  And of course I've vented here alot.  It helps to get the feelings out in one form at least.

I also remind myself that I am better than those who are being rude, by being my usual cheery self.  I don't want to give them ANY ammunition.

Good ideas Mgoss!  I work in a local office of 9 and a team of 18 so not quite so easy to hide from the nayayers.  I too vent to my FI at night and here during the day.  I also email a couple friends when I get really upset and "talk" it out that way.

I just have to come to the realization that all the "things will be changing" comments during my talks with the Chief of Staff are hollow and just do what I can.  And tell myself that the people who count are the ones who treat me with respect, and the ones that are disrespectful won't matter the minute I leave here so not to give them power over me.

I definitely reccomend venting to FI or friends or on TK during the day so things don't build up. :) I also find listening to music helps me keep more positive during the day, and when my co-workers are ridiculous and treat me like an ignorant child I laugh to my self about how much extra money and time it will take them to fix their problem than had they just listened to me in the first place. Zoeismurf--that sounds just like at my work--because of my age no one listens to my opinion!  It does feel good to smile inside when things they don't listen to you about go wrong though :)

It makes me sad that so many of us women are underappreciated in the work place, but it's nice to have people to talk to that understand what I'm going through.

I think I've mentioned it before, but FI and I work in the same office (different companies, but a small office), so he has to listen to me vent a lot.  I feel so bad for him too, I think sometimes it's all he can do not to go punch someone in the face!

Also, I don't feel even a little bit bad about planning my wedding while at work and being on the Knot :)

That is the one nice thing about a crappy work environment. No guilt about doing non-work related things while there. It's especially ridiculous when you do non-work stuff and then can still get more done than those around you.Smile
