Nervous and excited!!! Getting baptized tomorrow!

Hi Ladies!
I am so full of excitement and nerves, I just had to share with all of you. August is a big month for me...I'm getting married in less than 2 weeks AND I'm being baptized tomorrow! I am a relatively new believer- was brought to Christ a year and a half ago by my wonderful FI. I've been interested in being baptized for a while now, but was waiting to make sure those closest to me could be present...and it looks like I got my wish. We're expecting about 25 adults (friends and family) and 8 kids at the service and afterwards for brunch at my house.

I just finished writing my short testimony. I am so full of nerves...just hope I don't freeze up there with everyone watching me.

Thanks for letting me share! I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.

That's a big step in proclaiming your faith.  I pray that all goes well and that God's presence will be felt.

best of luck and congratulations! like PP said, it is a big step to take!

i have been a long time believer, and was baptized as a baby.  but to become a member of FI's church i will need to be baptized as an adult.  i'm hoping to make that happen after our wedding in October, when i can declare that I, Jessica Leigh B----- is a follower of God with my new name.

Thank you all for your kind words! It was an amazing day! I was really nervous, and as soon as I got into the tank, I dunked my index cards into the water. My pastor laughed and said that was God breaking the ice. I managed to get through my testimony without crying too much. Everyone said they enjoyed hearing my story, which made me feel great. Afterwards we had about 30 people over for brunch. It was a wonderful day!

Here's a picture of me with the cake my best friend (and matron of honor) brought over. I have NO idea why theknot keeps making my pictures sideways when they aren't that way on my computer-lol!!!

Oh, and to jsimm, I had to re-read your post several times, because MY name is Jessica Leigh ... So funny!

Ugh I am jealous! haha. I have been wanting to be baptised for a while now, but (and dont laugh guys) I have a sickening fear of water (I shower haha but I don't take baths, swim in pools, anything like that) because of a near death experience of my own that resulted in my cousin and her baby daughter drowning.

I also have a binding fear of public speaking / stage fright. My church is HUGE and the baptism would have to be in front of everyone! I have asked and begged for something more small or private but they said its that way or no way at my church.

I keep praying for God to lift my fears from me but I just can't shake them :(
Because of this, Fi and I cant marry in a Christian Ceremony :(
