Wedding Woes

s/o not understanding your toddler

For weeks DD was asking, no BEGGING, to watch the movie "The Hand of Midas."  We had no idea what she was talking about and even asked her grandparents if she had watched the movie at one of their houses.   I went on IMDB and did a google search.   No luck.   The movie, or anything that sounded like that, did not exist.
Finally, we just had to tell her to stop asking for it because it was frustrating for all involved.  She'd get so ticked off at us for not knowing what she was talking about.

Then, one day, DH put in a movie for us to watch.   DD got so excited.   Yay!   "The Hand of Midas!" she said.   DH and I looked at each other with looks combining confusion and elation.    "The Hand of Midas" was really....

... "The Phantom of the Opera"

Really?    We would have never guessed that in a million years.  Oh, the joys of parenting.

Woah, that's kind of out there!

6let loves the "woody the cowboy movie."   That's a pretty easy one though.

Her favorite movies currenlty are The Sound of Music and Phantom of the Opera.   She's seen the Phantom movie, but she really likes the recent anniversary stage version.   She also likes the music from Les Mis and I was introducing her to the music from Oklahoma last night.  We're a little obsessed with musicals in our house.

A few weeks ago, we took her to see a local high school production of the Beauty and the Beast musical and she liked it a lot.   First live theater experience at 3 1/2.  And it wasn't Barney or the Wiggles.   :)

Lol. DS had one of those the other day but for the life of me I can't remember what is was. I love this stage, the word choices are so hilarious at times.
  • My youngest sister was reduced to tears one time when I did understand her request for Nougat. She finally pointed to my stereo and exclaimed "NOUGAT!" Oh, music.

The phrasing 6let uses is killing me.  Monday I hooked at me and said "mommy, may I have a minute to talk to you?"  Wha?Huh?  Where did he hear that?

He wanted to tell me that when cousin Ben outgrew his goggles he'd give them to 6let.

  • At least she wasn't demanding to see Black and Blew.
