Wedding Woes

I have wandered all over tarnation today, looking for a place for the egg drop event

we're doing.

We have to not piss off my employer's liabilty insurance, be safe for kids to climb up, be indoors (<not my rule) and be 15' tall-ish.

I have found NOTHING.

Boo.
We're going to have to run with it 4 m tall instead of 5 which will mean the devices don't work right.

On that topic, we're not attaching the eggs to rockets and shooting them in the parking lot this year.  That will dissapoint the one cop who helps guard the lot who always thinks it's hilarious and roots for our devices to hit the cars of assholes who drove around his security barricades.

    isn't learning fun?

That's one of my favorite events.  Unless it snows on competition day, then it sucks, because things freeze and dont' work right and we have safety concerns.
  • seeing that you are in texas, there must be someone who owns alot of acres who would be willing to let the students use it,in the name of science and learning.try placing an ad in the newspaper.

<div>GBCK, please place an ad in a Texan newspaper. You might want to look more into the San Antonio or Austin areas since nobody in Houston has acreage. </div>
  • Can you use an arena or some sort of gym w/ bleachers?

The gym with bleachers is where we finally settled on, after heated e-mail debates.
It's 4.5 meters tall instead of 5 meters tall.  (unless some adult cimbs up and does the dropping--but that kinda defeats the whole purpose-the kids built these things, they don't trust adults with them :-)
But, you know, here with all this acrage, I should just put it in the paper...

    They'll survive.
I'm putting out a PSA though, so they have a head's up and don't whine extensively about our specs being wrong.
