Yahoo "news" reported on how the name Washington is the blackest name in American and how if you have that name you are assumed to be Black.  This results in less job interviews and difficulty in getting appointments to see houses, etc.

I had no idea that this was a "black" name.  I wonder how many people will now use this information to make assumptions about a person who has that name. 

Also, as with many Yahoo "news" articles, what was the point of that article?  I don't see it as helpful to a more integrated society.

Interesting.  I can't say I've ever met a white person with that last name.

I've never met another white person, aside from my siblings, with my maiden name. My sister did once, and it was family news.

Hm.  We once had a temp here named Betty, and I thought she'd be white.  I even told her, she laughed.  She told me she thought my mother would be black.  We all laughed.

I lost her number, otherwise I would skip the agency and call her direct.  She was a funny lady.
